The tiny tots of seedling class participated in folk dance event on 2 March 2017. They put up scintillating performances.

The presentation brought alive on stage the regional and folk culture of India. The children set the floor on fire with their energetic performances.

The fun filled extravaganza offered folk dances forms of Rajasthan, Gujarat Haryana, Goa and Maharashtra.

The spectators were enthralled to see the enthusiasm and energy of the children and applauded their marvellous performances.

Dancing with the feet is one thing, but dancing with the heart is another.”

Our school organized a cultural fiesta for Class III students. It was a proud moment for the students as well as the parents when they watched their little angels dancing to the tune of fusion music. The students were looking fabulous as they wore colorful costumes and set the stage on fire with their scintillating performance. It was a joyous day for the students as well as the parents.

"When we try to translate the vitality of our life energy into fluid moves, we dance. Every dance performance is unique as every dancer is a unique being throbbing with life."

With the aim of honing the skills of the students, a musical event on the retro theme was organised by St. Mark's Girls School for students of Class Sapling. The vivacious dancers set the floor on fire with their energetic performances. The fun filled extravaganza involved the retro forms of the famous artists like Abba, Boney M., etc.

Children dressed in colourful costumes swayed to the beats of retro music. Twirling toes, rhythmic foot work along with the beat of music kept the audience captivated.

The spectators bore witness to the enthusiasm and energy of the young saplings as they enthralled everyone with their performances.

Children fascinated the audience with their singing and well-choreographed dance sequences and provided thorough entertainment with their graceful and energetic moves. The kids loved the experience and it was incredible to see them supporting each other.

Inter Class Solo Singing Activity for Class III was held on 12 July 2016. The participants put forth their enthralling performance. They sang a variety of songs. The occasion was graced by our Vice Principal, Ms. Sabina Shergill. The parents enjoyed seeing their little girls singing in melodious voices. A great support was given from the audience who comprised of the entire class III. All the young maestros made the event a great success and were very well appreciated by the Vice Principal.

With the aim of honing the dancing skills of the students, dance event was organised by St. Marks Girls Sr. Sec. School. The theme of the event was "Indian Folk Dances" on Friday 20 November 2015. The tiny tots of seedling class set the floor on fire with their energetic performances. The fun fillled extravaganza offered folk dance performances of Bengal (tribal), Maharashtra, Goa and Rajasthan.

Our school organized Inter Class Folk Dance Event for Class 3 wherein all the six sections performed scintillating Indian folk dances. The astounding décor radiated an ethnic and folk flavor. The children participated solicitously setting the stage on fire. The event was brilliantly anchored by class 4 students. The fun filled extravaganza offered folk dance forms of Kashmir, Assam, West Bengal, Goa, Telangana and Karnataka. The dance event livened up the atmosphere and the participants swayed the audience with their graceful and energetic moves. It was an enriching experience for the children who displayed their dancing abilities.

Inter Class Folk Dance for Class I - (21 August 2015)

Our school hosted an Inter Class Dance Event on 21 August 2015 for Class I. The programme started with a Bihu Dance performance, followed by a dance from the colourful state of Rajasthan. The children danced to the tunes taken from different states of India. Ranging from the foot-tapping number to the scene music, the danceforms left everyone spellbound. The parents cheered the little ones and the event turned out to be a grand success. The programme culminated with an address by the school director Ms. Anjali Aggarwal.
Solo Singing Competition - (14 May 2015)
An Inter Class Solo Singing Competition for class III was held on 14 May 2015. The participants put forth enthralling performances. They sang a variety of songs and spread an aura of pleasant harmony which completely captivated the audience. The participation of the young maestros made the competition a great success. Our esteemed judges, Principal, Ms. Sheena Kalenga and Vice Principal, Ms. Sabina Shergill were mesmerised by their melodious voices and applauded all the participants. They also announced the winners of the event.

It is said that 'When you dance your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It is to enjoy each step along the way'. And to prove this right the enthusiastic Sapling students of SMGS presented before the audience the different folk dances of India and enjoyed it to the fullest. The tiny tots presented a colourful variety of dances like Tribal dance by Sapling A, Gujrati by Sapling B, Himachali by Sapling C, Bengali by Sapling D, Goan by Sapling E and Kalbelia by Sapling F. The air was charged and the atmoshere became electric as the auditorium reverberated with the cheering and clapping of the audience. The event proved to be a great success and in the end our Principal Ms. Sheena Kalenga congratulated and blessed the students for their effortsand for putting up a great show.

Dance is the hidden language of soul. Without music and dance ,life would be incomplete. The tiny tots of Seedling class presented folk dance event on 28th of November 2014, which gave the audience a glimpse of various dance forms of our country. The folk dances performed at the event included Bengali, Tamil, Rajasthani, Haryanavi, Maharashtrian, kannad and Garhwali dance. The audience were spellbound to see the cherubims dressed up in the attires representing different cultures.The performances were a reflection of traditional india, left the audience yearning for more. Our Principal Mrs. Sheena Kalenga addressed the audience. The event was graced by head of preparatory School “Magic BeanstalkMrs. Gera and our Vice principal Mrs. Sabina Shergill.

Dancing is an expression of the ecstasy & gratitude for being in this profoundly beautiful world. Though dance is universal, its forms are plenty.

The global village where we live today is a dwelling abode to many cultures, each with a unique dance tradition.

At the click of a button, we can be carried to scintillating dances of 18th century. The very next moment one can be in the company of some enthralling world beats of Jazz. So, creatively these are special times of amalgamations, of fusions.

Paying an ode to Dance & to the multicultural times we live in, St. Mark’s Girls Senior Secondary School, Meera Bagh had a rendezvous with a visually captivating Fusion Dance Event on 30 September, 2014.

Young angels of Grade 2, as if descended from heavens, filled the heart of the audience with immense aesthetic pleasure. Clad in luscious ethnic costumes, they danced to the tunes of various dance forms of Gujarat, Goa, Orissa and Tamil Nadu in a spectacular fusion with the dances of Italy, Korea, Russia, and Africa. The amalgamation of these elegant dances mesmerized the audience. The vivacious dancers kept the viewers spellbound. For a moment, one was really transported to these exotic parts of the world. The exquisite weaving of the warp & weft of dance forms from across the oceans was indeed a feast for the eyes.

The students pf Class IV participated in the ISA ACTIVITY -- Dances From Around The World Presentation. The students researched and found out material on the origin, history, attire, most popular dance form etc. of Dances like - Russian, Korean, African, Italian and Bharatnatyam. The students were divided into groups. They did research work and presented their findings to the rest of the class. The students enjoyed and did learnt alot about the various dances.

Class III students of SMGS presented a fusion of various dances around the world which was an ISA Activity held under the aegis of the British Council. The function was witnessed by the parents, students of classes IV. A warm welcome was given to the honourable chairman Mrs. Anjali Aggarwal, our Principal Mrs. Sheena Kalinga and Vice Principal Ms. Sabina Shergil. A very special warm welcome was also extended to the esteemed guest Ms. Alessandra Bertini, the Director of the Indian Institute of Culture. The dancers enraptured the mind and soul of the viewers with thin suntillating performances.
Fusion Dance - (2 September 2014)
The dance is one of the many human experiences which cannot be suppressed. Dancing has existed among all times and among all people. Beauty,splendor and the magnificence of different cultures was brought down to the auditorium of St. Mark’s on 2 September, 2014 when the students of class I performed various fusion dance forms. Dance gives expressions to the beauty of the soul. The celebration was marked with a fusion of dances like Russian and Bharatnatyam, Brazilian and Gujarati, Italian and Kashmiri, Goan and Arabian, Rajasthani and Korean.The beaming faces of the dancers, the mesmerizing smile on their faces and grace of their movements, struck a chord in every heart.
