The Commerce and Economics Fest of St. Mark's Senior Secondary School, Janakpuri, ECOCOMM, is back with its second edition with more energy and enthusiasm this year. The Fest was declared open by our Principal ma’am, Ms. Inderpreet Kaur Ahluwalia. The three-day fiesta began with its first event entitled 'The Big Bull- Be a Stock Market Handler', a stock market simulation game to test the analytical, mathematical and logical skills in which the teams were required to trade and maximise profits. Our Principal Ma’am wished good luck to all the participants and boosted their morale.
In the preliminary round, the participants (in teams of 2) traded for one and a half hour and tried to earn ultimate profits. Six teams out of sixteen teams with the highest portfolio value made up to the final round.
The final round was judged by Mr. Pradeep Jain, who is a Senior Insurance Advisor and a Fund Manager, running his own firm and Ms. Vrishti, a Delhi University Graduate currently pursuing her CA. She is an active investor in stock and gold market.
The 6 qualified teams gave a presentation in front of the judges and displayed their analysis of buying and selling of the stock during the intra-day trading. This was followed by a rebuttal. The teams were judged on the basis of their content, accuracy and presentation.
The following team was declared as the WINNER i.e. THE BIG BULL.

The event gave an enriching experience to our future investors about the functioning of the stock market.
The Second Day of The Commerce and Economics Fest ‘ECOCOMM’ began with the much-awaited quiz competition ‘Avid Quizzers’. It included a variety of questions from different arenas like Business Awareness, Economics, Sustainable Development Goals and National Education Policy 2020. The questions tickled the minds of our young enthusiasts and compelled them to think beyond the normal.
The quiz had 2 rounds. The preliminary round consisted of 30 questions and gave us our top 10 qualifiers. In the final round, these participants played in 5 discrete teams and answered 4 questions each in 60 seconds.
The 3 winning teams are listed as follows:
1st Position: Kushaldeep Singh (12-E) and Arnavv Sharma (12-E)
2nd Position: Mayank Madaan (11-D) and Panav Aggarwal (12-E)
3rd Position: Sambhav Gupta (12-E) and Samarth Joshi (11-E)
The third and final day of ECOCOMM began with the event BUSINESS MAVERICKS, in which 16 teams presented their startup business ideas on the theme ‘Sustainable Development Goals’.
The event was judged by Mr. Ashish Garg, an alumnus of Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, who is a T3 certified trainer from British Council with an experience of 15 years in corporate and education sector, and Mr. Gaurav Gangwani, an alumnus of our school who is a graduate in BCom (H) from Hansraj College, University of Delhi. He is also pursuing Chartered Accountancy and is currently undergoing training with KPMG.
The event was a grand success and the interaction between the judges and the participants was quite inspiring and enriching.

The MAD World- Advertisement Making Competition marked the journey forward for Ecocomm 2.0 – Commerce and Economic Fest of St. Mark’s Senior Secondary School, Janakpuri, with an aim to acquaint students with promotional strategies in marketing through advertisements.
Ms Shivani Singh Sengar, Logical Reasoning, Head of Department, Edumentor and Communications Specialist, graced the occasion with her benign presence as a judge.
The event fostered a true sense of innovation, aptness and skills at the school level, and got the best minds of Classes XI and XII to showcase their creative business skills in marketing products and services. Students acted out on various amusing and conceptual advertisement scripts and ideas relevant for different sectors including FMCG products, luxury goods and services, automobiles and social awareness.
The event culminated with constructive feedback shared by the judge, focussing on intellect and ingenuity that came together through the event. Our Principal, Ms. Inderpreet Kaur Ahluwalia, extended her sincere appreciation toward the Organising Committee and appreciated the young change makers.

The event was judged by our school alumnus Mr. Aman Goel (A Chartered Accountant at Ernst & Young) and Mr. Gaurav Gangwani (A finance enthusiast who is currently undergoing training with KPMG. He is an All India Ranker 1 in International Commerce Olympiad 2017, scoring 100 percentile).
All the teams put their best foot forward and delivered praiseworthy performances.

During the pandemic, our school organised its First Commerce and Economics Fest 2021 ‘ECOCOMM’ for the students of Classes XI and XII.
Event 1: AVID QUIZZERS
Keeping this spirit alive, our Commerce students participated in AVID QUIZZERS.
The virtual quiz was a great learning experience for everyone who attended it. The top 5 finalists from the Preliminary round made it to the Final Round.

Event 2 - "WOW: WAR OF WORTH"
Our young intellects showed utmost enthusiasm and immensely excellent participation in "WOW: WAR OF WORTH", an intriguing debate event of the Commerce and Economics Fest 2021.
The event comprised of 5 teams, each consisting of 2 participants from Classes XI and XII with various companies to represent like KFC and McDonalds, BMW and Audi, etc. and put their exceptional skills of debating at work to compete and prove their company’s worth in terms of today’s job market and economy.

Event 3 - Business Mavericks
Business Mavericks marked the journey forward of ECOCOMM 2021. Inspired by the existing business world where corporates are trying to rebrand their identity, restructure their organization, Business mavericks got the best minds of Class XI and XII students to portray themselves as ‘Entrepreneurs’ and sell a unique business idea by pitching a business plan.

Event 4 - "The MAd World”
Effective advertising accelerates the success of a product and enhances the magnitude of its impact in the ever-evolving consumer market.
The students of Classes XI & XII were given an opportunity to exhibit their skill of making a humorous ADVERTISMENT of 2-3 minutes showcasing their talent by taking any product / service of their own choice.
The participants were judged on the basis of Core Values of an Advertisement like Originality, Creativity, Coordination, Audio-Visual Impact and Entertainment. There were eight teams who, showcased their talent and calibre in the field of advertisement.

Event 5 - ‘The Big Bull - Be a Stock Market Handler’
As a part of ECOCOMM, the students of Classes XI and XII participated in a stock market simulation event ‘The Big Bull - Be a Stock Market Handler’. The Preliminary Round took place on 17th August wherein 16 participants did trading for one hour by using their analytical skills and earned profits.
The following 5 participants, who earned the highest profits, made it to the finals which was scheduled for 18th August:
