Since reading forms an essential part of a child’s growth therefore to inculcate the reading habits among the children and to create life long readers Book Week / Book Fairs are organized on regular basis, wherein children get an opportunity to browse through the interesting collection on display and to select books of their choice. |

At St. Mark’s School Janakpuri, we aim to encourage our students to develop a life-long love of reading. Thus, to inculcate the habit of reading in them, we celebrated the 'Book Week' from 28th November to 2nd December 2023. The week commenced with the inauguration of the Scholastic Book Fair on 28 November 2023 by our Principal Ma'am, Ms. Inderpreet Kaur Ahluwalia.
Throughout the week, students enjoyed the opportunity to explore books of different genres and immersed themselves in the world of literature. |

To celebrate the joy of reading books and to inculcate reading habits among the students, St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. School, Janakpuri organised Scholastic Book Fair from 24th to 29th April 2023. It included a diverse selection of books from several categories to motivate the readers.
The book fair was inaugurated by Admission and Discipline Incharge, Ms. Jyotsna Vishwakarma, with Ms. Sushma Saraf, representative of Scholastic India Pvt. Ltd.
Students were motivated to become avid readers and explore these treasure houses of deep knowledge. Students of Classes II to VIII explored all the varied genres of books during the whole week. |

To celebrate the joy of reading books, St. Mark’s Sr Sec Public School, Janakpuri, organized Book Week and Scholastic Book Fair from 13th December to 17th December 2022. The Book Week commenced with the inauguration of the Book Fair by our Principal, Ms. Inderpreet Kaur Ahluwalia and Ms. Sushma Saraf, Scholastic India Pvt. Ltd. The Principal encouraged the students to become avid readers and to explore these treasure houses of deep knowledge. A number of interesting activities and competitions were curated throughout the week. Literary Newspaper, Children’s Classics, Grammar Games, Scroll of Literary Eras, Poetry Composition with illustration and Terribly Tiny Tales were some of the activities in which the students participated and showcased their creative skills. |
Our school observed its annual BOOK WEEK from 10th to 15th December 2018 along with a week-long book exhibition in collaboration with Scholastic Publication. |
A Book Fair was organised for a week in the month of April 2018 by Scholastic Pvt. Ltd. A wide range of books of all disciplines of education were put on display for browsing for students, teachers and the parents as well.
The highlight of the fair was the classroom challenge activity which was won by Class III-E for captivating the maximum readers to the book fair. The class received a certificate and a pack of books for their class library. |

For the entire student community of the school the week was spent browsing a wide range of books from all disciplines of education on display, however, fiction saw the greatest takers. A lucky draw was organized by the scholastic group for book lovers. The highlight of the event was the Classroom Challenge Activity that captivated the maximum readers to the book stall to grab the title for their class. The most incredible class of Readers received a hamper of books for their class library and also acknowledged with Class Certificate from Scholastic. |

An exhibition by the Nation Book Trust was organized in the school from 14th to 19th November 2011 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Pt. Nehru. Books ranging from various subjects and catering to the tastes of every age group were displayed.
The aim was to encourage and inculcate the love of reading among the students. |
