St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Janakpuri organized the final round of it's 7th Annual Inter School English Debate Competition- ‘IDEOLOGUE’, on 25 August 2023. The competition received humongous participation from around 50 schools in the Preliminary Round which was held on 4th and 5th of August. The Final Round saw the participants from the top-notch 20 schools, who expounded their strong and vociferous opinions on the topic ‘NATIONAL ALLEGIANCE IN OUR COUNTRY IS NOT EVOLVING IN TANDEM WITH RELIGIOUS ZEAL; competing for the Rolling Trophy.
They were judged by Dr. Sachin Nirmala Narayanan, Associate Professor of English Literature, Dyal Singh College, Delhi University along with Ms. Simi Shrivastava, Master story-teller and Founder of Kathashala - a story-telling institute and studio and Ms. Arvinder Kaur Pabla, Master Coach and Lead at SGT University and a certified CELTA trainer.
The occasion was graced with the revered presence of the School Chairman, Mr. T. P. Aggarwal and the Manager, Mr. Rahul Aggarwal. A cordial and hearty welcome was extended to all by the Principal, Ms. Inderpreet Kaur Ahluwalia. Vice-Principal Ms. Anie Benny concluded the event by proposing a vote of thanks.

Our school organized its 7th edition of Annual Inter-School English Debate Competition IDEOLOGUE. The Preliminary Round of IDEOLOGUE 2023 was held on 4th & 5th of August 2023. The competition witnessed an enthusiastic participation from around 50 venerated schools across Delhi NCR.
The competition was the kaleidoscope of opinions, thoughts and perspectives that enhanced the knowledge and understanding about ‘Chat GPT is an impediment to school Education’ and ‘Political Awareness among the Elite is Inconsequential.’
The discourse were judged by Dr. Rajya Lakshmi, Associate Professor (Sociology), Janki Devi Memorial College, Delhi University, Ms. Vaijayanti Savant Tonpe, a renowned writer who has worked with leading publishers of Childrens’ books and Dr. Antara Bhatia, a professor in the Department of English at Ramjas College, University of Delhi.
The event was graced by the presence of our School Director, Ms. Anjali Agarwal, Manager, Mr. Rahul Aggarwal, and school Principal, Ms. Inderpreet Kaur Ahluwalia.
The qualifying teams of the Preliminary Round will be competing for the Rolling Trophy in the Final Round of IDEOLOGUE to be held on 25th August, 2023. A rejuvenating meditation session by Mr. Mitra Prawesh and Ms. Maitreyi Mamta was also organized for the accompanying teacher in charges of the participants. |

It is that time of the year again, when, with brimming enthusiasm, our school organized - The 6th edition of the Preliminary Round of it's Annual Inter School Debate Competition - 'Ideolodue 2022' on 5 & 6 August. The competition received an enthusiastic participation from 50 venerated schools across Delhi.
The participants chose from the topics – ‘Agneepath scheme will put the security of the country at peril’ and ‘NFTs are nothing but worthless illusions.’ They were judged by Dr. Rajya Lakshmi, Associate Professor (Sociology), Janki Devi Memorial College, Delhi University, Ms. Arvinder Kaur Pabla, Voice & Accent trainer from British Council and Advocate Michael Rao.
The event was graced by the presence of School Chairman Mr. T. P. Aggarwal and Manager Mr. Rahul Aggarwal who motivated the students and thereafter declared the debate competition open. Our Principal, Ms. Inderpreet Kaur Ahluwalia, extended her warm welcome and boosted the morale of the participants.
The teams qualifying the Preliminary Round competed for the Rolling Trophy in the Final Round of IDEOLOGUE that was held on 26 August 2022. In the Final Round, the participants of the top 18 schools expounded their strong and divergent opinions on the topic ‘Class XII Board Marks have lost their relevance in the era of Entrance Exams’ and competed for the Rolling Trophy. The occasion was graced with the revered presence of the School’s Director, Ms. Anjali Aggarwal. The participants were judged by Dr. Rachna Sethi, Associate Professor in the Department of English, Rajdhani College, Delhi University and Dr. Sachin Nirmala Narayanan, Associate Professor of English Literature, Dyal Singh College, Delhi University.
During the event, a rejuvenating meditation session was also organized for the teacher incharges accompanying the participants. The session was conducted by Ms. Komal from Maitri Bodh Parivaar.

The competition received an enthusiastic participation from venerated schools pan India that participated in the Preliminary Round that was held on 21 August. In the Final Round, the participants put forth their views on the trending topic ‘Unrestrained Freedom of Speech and Expression is the Pillar of a Progressive Society’ and competed for the Rolling Trophy.
The participants were judged by Dr. Rana Sami, Associate Professor, Zakhir Hussain College, Delhi University and Mr. Abdul Hameed, Assistant Professor, Zakhir Hussain College, Delhi University. The occasion was graced with the benign virtual presence of the school’s Chairman, Mr. T. P. Aggarwal, Director, Ms. Anjali Aggarwal and Manager Mr. Rahul Aggarwal. A warm and congenial welcome was extended to all by the school’s Principal, Ms. Inderpreet Kaur Ahluwalia. Educational Supervisor, Ms. Jyotsna Vishwakarma concluded the event by proposing a vote of thanks.

“For good ideas and true innovation, you need human interaction, you need dissent, hence, you need debate!”
Debate and divergence of views have enriched our history and culture. Keeping in view the essence and inevitability of debate in the modern world scenario, our school conducted the third edition of Inter-School Debate Competition-IDEOLOGUE, with an aim to provide a platform to young scholars with divergent thinking, who could illuminate and influence minds with their eloquent speeches.
The Preliminary round was held on 8 and 9 August 2019, wherein teams from 60 venerated schools of Delhi had participated, making it a herculean task for the judges to shortlist the finalists. The Final Round was held on 31 August, wherein 20 qualified schools competed for the Rolling Trophy. The event was judged by Dr. Rajya Laxmi, Associate Professor, University of Delhi, Dr. Kusum Lata, Associate Professor, Delhi University and Mr. Sachin N. Associate Professor, Dayal Singh College, Delhi University. Manager, Mr. Rahul Aggarwal, Principal, Mrs. Alka Kher and Vice Principal, Mrs. Inderpreet Kaur Ahluwalia graced the occasion with their benign presence and motivated the participants with their words of wisdom.
This journey has been highly motivational and a learning experience for all who participated. The length and breadth of knowledge that the students gained through this interaction is simply unparalleled.

IDEOLOGUE - 2018, the Inter School English Debate Competition was organized by our school to inculcate in young scholars multi-faceted skills and knowledge which are essential to increase their confidence, poise and self-esteem. The competition witnessed a tremendous response from 52 leading schools from across Delhi which participated in the Preliminary Round that spread over two days, 18 & 20 August 2018. The Preliminary Round of the competition was judged by Dr. Raj Lakshmi, Professor, Delhi University and Ms. Vaijayanti Savant Tonpe, writer and editor of children’s books and magazines.
The Final Round was held on 1 September wherein 18 schools competed for the Rolling Trophy. The event was judged by Ms. Rashmi Govind, Associate Professor, Zakir Hussain College, Delhi University and Dr. Sachin N. Associate Professor, Dayal Singh College, Delhi University.
Our Chairman, Mr. T. P. Aggarwal, Director, Mrs. Anjali Aggarwal, Principal, Mrs. Alka Kher and Vice Principal, Mrs. Inderpreet Kaur Ahluwalia graced the occasion with their benign presence and motivated the participants with their words of wisdom.
The competition reached a fruitful end with the Rolling Trophy being won by Vidushi Sinha, Tanvi Purohit and Ayush Mehan of N. K. Bagrodia School, Sector-4, Dwarka. Vidhushi Sinha of N. K. Bagrodia School, Dwarka was adjudged as the Best Speaker for the motion followed by Dhruv Malhotra, Bhatnagar International School, Paschim Vihar and Vani Kant of Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan as the first and second runners-up respectively. Daksh Pandey of OPG World School, Dwarka was adjudged as the Best Speaker against the motion followed by Vanshika Bhatt of Venkateshwar International School, Dwarka as the first runner-up. There was a tie for the second runner-up position, that was bagged by Tanishka Aggarwal of Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan and Adwita Singh of Ramjas School, Pusa Road.

IDEOLOGUE 2017, an inter school English debate competition was organized by our school to give an impetus to young scholars and to inculcate in them a spirit of competitiveness, boundless urge for inquisitiveness and to boost self-confidence. The competition witnessed a tremendous response as 47 reputed schools from across Delhi participated in the Prelims that spread over two days 4 & 5 August.
For the Finals, which was held on 19 August, 16 best teams were selected.
The Rolling Trophy was lifted by Queen’s Valley, Dwarka. Ashutosh Verma of Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan was adjudged as the best speaker for the motion. Yatharth Popli of Ramjas School, Pusa Road and Muskan Grover of our School were respectively the first and second runner’ up. Medha Sharma of Queen’s Valley, Dwarka won the best speaker award for speaking against the motion. Vandana Bansal of Ramjas School, Pusa Road and Neha of OPG World School, Dwarka were respectively the first and second runner up. Akanshka Jiya of Queen’s Valley and Aryan Saini of Maharaja Agarsain Public School, Ashok Vihar were adjudged best interjectors. The final competition was judged by Prof. Debraj Mookerjee, Ramjas College, DU, Ms. Rashmi Govind, Associate Prof., Zakir Hussain College, DU, and Ms. Vaijayanti Savant Tonpe, writer and editor of children’s’ books and magazines. |
