The Silverzone Olympiads are a series of competitive exams held annually wherein the outstanding performers are recognised and felicitated.Silverzone Olympiads Award Ceremony for Classes I to V was held on 9 March, 2019. The awards for various categories were given to the meritorious students. The students were felicitated by Principal Ms. A. Aggarwal, Vice Principals Ms. R. Anand and Ms. A. Gupta. It was a proud moment for all.

Angel Arora (III C) brought laurels when she was declared the Olympiad Top Rank Holder for Social Studies. She won a trophy and a cheque worth Rs. 10,000. Further, she even won a wristwatch for being the 15th Olympiad Rank Holder in the Reasoning and Aptitude Category.

National Talent Olympiad - (20 February 2019)

22 students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in the ‘National Talent Olympiad’ held at Apeejay Public School, Sheikh Sarai, Delhi on 20 February, 2019. Our students participated in different categories like racing, on the spot painting, canvas painting, calligraphy, elocution, poem recitation, essay writing and dance competition. Citation of Honour was given to every student along the medals.

Exemplary Prizes were won by Shivam (V-F) Singing; Kunal (VI-C) Poem Recitation; Rajat Mittal (VII-B) Elocution; Amitoj Kaur (VIII-F) Canvas Painting.

Outstanding Prizes were won by Kapish Jain (V-G) Racing; Khushi (VI-G) On the Spot Painting; Pranaya Gehlawat (VII-F) Elocution; Gungun (VII B) Racing; Raghav Sharma (VIII-A) Racing.

Meritorious Prize was won by Sanjeet Malik (VIII-E) Racing.

Budding Artist Inter branch Painting Competition was held in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 2 February, 2019. 225 students of Classes III to IX and XI participated and showed their talent in various mediums like Oil Pastels, Water Colours, Charcoal and Acrylic Colours. The judges for the event were Ms. Indira Poddar, Ms. Garima Phutela, Ms. Charulata and Ms. Ritika Kohli.

The students of our school who won prizes were :-

JMC Model United Nations - 2019

If you desire to make a difference in the world, you must aspire to be different....

Seven students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in JMC Model United Nations - 2019 in UNHRC, CSTD, UNCSW and Niti Aayog. The delegation presented their perspectives for a changing world and debated on grave issues such as rights of women and children in conflict zones, acquisition of big data and it's repercussions on common people, role of women in power as change alerts in society. The public speaking skills of the young delegates were appreciated by their Executive Boards.

Filmit is a multi-cultural project that aims at nurturing cultural understanding, care and concern amongst school children through the exciting experience of making and sharing films. Teacher Incharge Ms. S. Bhatnagar along with 4 students had attended the award ceremony of FilmIt India 2018-19 conducted by INTACH on 8 February, 2019. The members of the winning team that represented our school were Pratham Gupta (VIII F), Yash Gupta (VIII A), Taranjeet Singh (VII B), Prakriti Jaiswal (VI C), Ritika (VI C) and Laxmi Pujitha (VI C).

They won three awards in the following category:

1. Best Documentary Film– Nilgiri Oil (Pratham Gupta).
2. Best Original Film – Delhi Street Food (Yash Gupta).
3. Special Award for Maximum Number of Films Made by Students

Yashika Arora (IX-G) and Pawan Gupta (IX-E) of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public SCHOOL, Meera Bagh wrote on the Saga of Snakes and were rewarded for their brilliant write up by Indian National Trust for Art & Cultural Heritage (INTACH). They sensitized people with their writings about the importance of snakes in the eco system and the need to protect them to keep the ecological balance intact. They were awarded a certificate and a book each by our Principal, Ms. A. Aggarwal.

Maharaja Agrasen University organised an Interschool and Intercollege Table Tennis Tournament on 22 and 23 January, 2019 at Sector – 22, Rohini, Delhi. Prabhneet Singh (VIII H) won a Silver Medal alongwith Rs. 2,100/- and the Boys team comprising of Prabhneet Singh (VIII H), Rishabh Singh (IX H) and Ritvik (IX C) won a Bronze medal alongwith Rs. 2,100/-.
War of Wings : SGT University - (24 January 2019)

A drone competition ‘War of Wings’ was held on 24 January, 2019 at SGT University Gurgaon, Gurugramconsisted of 3 events - 100 m race, hurdle race and eye the sky.

Manmeet Singh Tuteja (XI E) of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh designed and built a drone which he innovated by adding sensors to measure the content of air that causes pollution. He bagged the 3rd prize which included a cash prize and certificate of Merit.

Eight students of Class XI of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in Shri Ram College of Commerce Model United Nations in General Assembly, United Nations Development Programme, UNHRC and intensively debated in the two day session on 12 and 13 January, 2019.

Sanah Malik (XI A) won the Honourable Mention in United Nations Human Rights Council where she represented People's Republic of China and debated on strengthening the rule of law and accountability of human rights violations. Ishika Chauhan (XI E) won the Honourable Mention in United Nations General Assembly where she represented Russian Federation and debated on legal autonomous weapons and Manpreet Kaur (XI E) won the Special Mention in United Nations Development Programme where she represented Saudi Arabia and debated on the global front to combat climate change.

Maths Quiz - (2019)
Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computations or algorithms : it is about understanding.

In order to enhance the understanding of Maths, a quiz was conducted in all the sections of grade IX. The quiz consisted of all sorts of questions like aptitude questions, tricky word problems etc. which involved rational and logical thinking. The participating students and the teachers enjoyed the Maths hour.

Students of Classes IV to IX of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in the School Super League Competition (Round One) organised by Times NIE. Round one was for open to all the students. The following students topped their class and have now qualified for the next round of the competition-

"Learning and innovation go hand in hand".

Young innovators with an experimental mindset brought to the school by winning positions in Zonal Level Science Exhibition. The winners were Hardik Garg (IX-E), Shreyas Dubey (IX-D), Meher Singh (X-G), Kushagra Batra (X-G), Sneha Sharma (XI-D), Vashita (XI-C), Chaitanya Arora (XI-E) and Manmeet Singh (XI-E). The winners will compete with best of the students from all over Delhi in the next round of Science Exhibition.
