“History Comes Alive" was a dynamic and interactive educational initiative that aimed at bringing history to life for students. The objectives of this program were to make history more engaging and relatable for participants. To provide a deeper understanding of historical events, figures, and eras. To encourage active participation and learning through interactive activities.
It was a three-day event where participants actively engaged in historical reenactments, role-playing, and hands-on activities related to specific historical periods or events.
On the first day of the event, a quiz was conducted, in which the student’s acumen for the Indian and world history was tested. On the second day, documentaries were shown to the students, in which they learned about 2000 years of history by Deepankar Aron, Unmaking of India - How the British Impoverished the world’s richest country.
The third day witnessed enthusiastic participation from students in three major competitions:
Speeches and Monologues of the famous leaders of the world, for Class VI.
Vintage Wordsmiths (Podcast Challenge) for Class VII students, which was in the form of podcast.

A Character Dramatization Competition was organised for the students of Class XI to commemorate the birth anniversary of the renowned playwright and poet, William Shakespeare.
For Character Dramatization competition, the students were asked to select a persona from any of Shakespeare's plays and perform a monologue/soliloquy portraying that role with the help of a supporting character. The competition aimed to encourage the students to understand the various characters in Shakespeare's works and bring them to life through their performances. The students put up an excellent show, and their performances were judged on various parameters like acting skills, dialogue delivery, costume, and overall presentation. The judges had a tough time selecting the winners, as all the performances were outstanding.

To celebrate and encourage the spirit of critical thinking and active citizenship, St. Marks Sr. Sec. Public School, Janakpuri organised an Inter-Class Debate Competition for Classes IX-X. The topic for Class IX was “Feminism has Led to the Dilution of Men’s Rights” and for Class X was “Chat GPT has Proved that we Humans are not Intelligent Enough to Understand Intelligence” respectively.
Mr. Manoj Kumar Mishra and Ms. Pushpa Madhusudanan presided over the competition as the judges.
The students put forth their arguments fervently, displaying the spirit of debate and discussion. This was followed by an address from Ms. Tanvi Handa, Middle School Coordinator, who gave her expert critique to the students on the judgement parameters. The best speakers from Class IX were Anushka Singh and Ayushi. Ayush Utsav and Tiya Mittal were awarded the title of ‘Best Speaker’ from Class X. The winners were felicitated by our Chairman Sir, Mr. T.P. Aggarwal and Principal Ma’am, Ms. Inderpreet Kaur Ahluwalia. |

A 'Solo Singing Competition' was organised for the students of Classes IV and V on 27 April 2023 with the objective of encouraging our budding singers, to have fun, dance and celebrate different milestones. The participants zealously sang songs ranging from classical hits like Country Road by John Denver and Brown Girl in the Ring by Bonny M to recent chartbusters like Believer by Imagine Dragons and Bloody Mary by Lady Gaga. Their melodious renditions enchanted the judges and the audience alike.

With the objective of feeding and nurturing the curiosity of our young learners, an Inter-House G.K. Quiz was organized for the students of Classes III-V on 9 February, 2023.
Going through the various rounds as part of different teams the participants answered multiple questions on topics like Books and Authors, Countries, Currencies, Capitals, Flags, Sports, Science and Technology, Grammar and Vocabulary, and so on. It was a tough competition and the participants thoroughly enjoyed the intellectually stimulating experience.
