The ICYS Conference hosted by Turkey featured six categories Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Engineering, with 135 students aged 14-18 from 15 countries (Brazil, Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Russia, Romania, Singapore, Serbia, Slovenia, Thailand, Turkey, and Uganda) presenting their scientific works.
Five students from our school, Pratyush Goyal (X-A), Amey Aggarwal (X-A), Pearl Kataria (XI-F), Anshi Jindal (XI-F), and Aashvi (XII-F), accompanied by Ms. A Kaur, represented Team India at the 30th edition of the International Conference of Young Scientists (ICYS), held in Izmir, Turkey from April 21st to 26th, 2024. The students achieved remarkable success, garnering several awards and accolades for their exemplary research.

Students from Classes Nursery to 12th of our school participated in the Silverzone Olympiad, which is one of the most popular International Olympiads. While many of them have brought laurels and accolades by winning gold, silver, and bronze medals in various subjects, Ayansh Aggarwal of Class 4 (2023-24) stands out as he won a medal at the International level in the Talent Hunt Olympiad and was awarded a cheque of Rs. 7500 by the SilverZone Foundation.
Participants and winners were also awarded with gift certificates and achievement certificates. |

NOF, the National Olympiad Foundation's main aim is to bring out students having academic calibre on a common platform. It is an Online International Exam based on animation. It uses sound effects and visuals to create interest in children by bringing out their enthusiasm. Olympiad exams help to create competitive awareness among students at school, national, and global levels. Our students from Classes Nursery to Class 10, participated in the various subject categories. 468 students participated, out of which 13 students won the Topper medals and 348 bagged the Gold medals. They were awarded medals as well as certificates for their achievements by our Principal Ma'am, Ms Ritika Anand. |

On 3 August 2023, a team of 4 students, Ritika Gupta (XI-D), Rushil Aggarwal (X-A), Aryan G.S. (X-F) and Parv Chaudhary (XI-G), from our school attended the Thailand Quiz at the India Islamic Cultural Centre, Lodi Road, Delhi. This Quiz was an initiative by the Royal Thailand Embassy in India, aimed to strengthen the cultural ties between India and Thailand. The students participated in the preliminary round and were awarded participation certificates. |

The Give Something Back International Foundation (GSBI) announced winners of Global Virtual Classroom Contest (GVC) 2022-23 - a free online collaborative learning project that fosters creativity, and cross-cultural understanding while learning website designing skills.
Our websites received the first prize (Gold Award) in the junior category and the third prize (Bronze Award) in the senior category.
At the junior level, our school collaborated with Tainan Municipal Haidong Elementary School (Taiwan) and Forest Park School (USA) and was awarded the first prize (Gold Award) for the website ‘An Ocean of Change’ (Team GVC-2207).
At the senior level, our children worked in partnership with, Leslie H. Walton Middle School, Charlottesville, VA, USA were awarded the third prize (Bronze Award) for the website ‘Indigenous Tribes’ (Team GVC-2210).
The sincere efforts of the students and the teacher-in-charges, Ms. Geeta Rajan, Ms. Tanuja Kant, Ms. Samridhi Malhotra and Ms. Shefali Bhatnagar appreciated and felicitated by our Principal Ma’am, Ms. Anjali Aggarwal and Vice-principal, Ms. Ritika Anand.

Students from grade 9 participated in a virtual conference by Generation Global
on 12 July. Our students exchanged their view-points with students from Bal Bharati Public School, Rohini on the topic for the conference - ‘Education’.
The moderator, Ms. Wati Wardani joined us from Jakarta, Indonesia to help and facilitate discussions on various aspects of education, including challenges faced by the underprivileged in India, and opportunities in the field.
The video conference on education provided valuable insights into the current state and future directions of education. |

Geetakshi Gupta of Class 4 (2022-23) won the Bronze Medal at the International Level in the Hindi Olympiad conducted by the Silverzone Olympiad. Geetakshi also received a cheque of Rs. 2500/- for her remarkable performance. |

Filmit is a multi-cultural project that aims at nurturing cultural understanding, care and concern amongst school children through the exciting experience of making and sharing films. Teacher In charge, Ms.Shefali Bhatnagar along with 5 students attended the award ceremony of FilmIt India 2022-23 conducted by INTACH on 2 February 2023.
Our films “Sujanpur Tihra” of Iri Thakur (8-C) is awarded with Best Cinematography and the film “Dastaan-A-Mahabharata” of Amey Aggarwal (8-A) and Pratyush Goyal (8-F) is awarded with Best Script. |

Pradyuman Sapra 9-B, Sukhman Singh 9-B and Shreya Salhotra 10-C make us proud as they figure in the top one hundred students of the Delhi West Region of CBSE. They participated in the Aryabhata Ganit Challenge an initiative taken by CBSE to identify and nurture studes’ mathematical skills and potential. |

Master Amey Aggarwal received the fifth prize in the video making competition organized by Global Young Changemakers Conference and Competition supported by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia. He received USD 45 (RM 200) cash prize and a certificate of achievement for his one minute creativevideo on his idea to change the world. |

Alone we can do so little; Together we can do so much!
The International Summit for the Youth – SMSIMUN, a global partnership event was held on 10 and 11 November 2022. It included delegates from 19 schools from 16 different countries namely Romania, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Pakistan, UAE etc.
Mr. Tushar Kanti Baidya, a Human Rights Activist from Bangladesh graced the opening ceremony. He impressed upon the importance of coming together to work for the SDGS. The participants pledged to make this world a better place.
Global citizens worldwide are making efforts to achieve sustainability. SMSIMUN involved 225 students, who participated in fruitful discussionson the ways to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and had a dialogue on the most crucial global issues. The committees included UNCSW, UNEP, WHO, IMF, IMO and International Press.
Following were the agendas for these committees:
1. UNCSW: United Nations Commission on the Status of Women
Improving female access to education worldwide (SDG4- Quality Education, SGG-5-Gender Equality)
2. UNEP: United Nations Environment Program
Promoting the Development and Accelerated Transfer of Environmentally Sound Technologies for Low Carbon and Climate Resilient Development to Developing Countries (SDG 11 -Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 13 -Climate action).
3. IMF: INTERNATIONAL MONETARY FUND
Agenda- Imminent Global Debt Crisis (SDG 8- Decent work and Economic growth, SDG10 - Reduced Inequalities).
4. WHO: WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION
Establishing Preparedness Protocols for Epidemics and Pandemics (SDG 3 - Good Health & Wellbeing)
5. IMO: INTERNATIONAL MARITIME ORGANIZATION
Minimizing and addressing the impact of Ocean Acidification (SDG – 14)
6. INTERNATIONAL PRESS: The International Press
The International Press consisted of poets, journalists, caricaturists and reporters who were given tasks linked to the SDGs.
The Virtual Art Exhibition added pomp and glory in the Closing Ceremony in which paintings related to the SDGs were showcased. It was followed by the announcement of results. Schools from Turkey, Malaysia, Lithuania etc. bagged many prizes. SMSIMUN was an attempt to contribute for SDG #17 – Building Global Partnerships to achieve the SDGs. |
On 27th July 2022 SMS, Meera Bagh students from Class 1-12 participated in the prestigious global Inter School Contest ‘Innovative Young Citizens Challenge 2022’ organized by Curious Times, a leading newspaper and online global platform for school children that challenges the critical thinking and problem solving skills of students.
According to their level, the students were given problem statements or topics in various categories - like designing a planet, a popular cartoon character, favourite picnic-spot and were asked to present their innovative ideas in the formof art, articles or videos.
Geet Grover of 4-B uploaded a video on problem of climate change and presented a solution on how a concerned citizen could save the problem. Geet Grover won the First Prize inthe Primary Category.

International Conference for Young Scientists 2022 held from 7-13 April. Our school is the Country Coordinator for ICYS and heads Team India. |
Our school has been honoured with the Gold Level Award in the School Enterprise Challenge 2019 by Teach A Man to Fish, which is a UK based enterprise that helps schools create fully functional student-led businesses around the world that are both educational and profitable. The business that our school students run is Nirmaan Enterprises that follows the three Ps - Planet, People & Profit to empower women from the weaker sections of the society. |

8 students of our school took part in the Microsoft Office Specialist Program 2019. 5 students - Antariksh Goel (X C), Sanya Behera (X A), Khushdeep Dhir (XII A), Pratham (IX B) and Mahir Girotra (IX D) qualified in the State Level Championship and 3 of them were selected for the National Level Championship at Pune. Sanya and Pratham appeared for the exam at Pune. Pratham was also awarded with a medal andall the students received a participation certificate. |

Two students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh - Tanmay Annand and Kartik Singh of Class VI-C and X-E, respectively participated in the Google Code 2 Learn Contest 2018 International Competition. Tanmay participated in the 6-7 category and Kartik participated in the 9-10 category. It was a great learning experience for them. Tanmay received a participation certificate and Kartik came in the top 10 finalist all over India and received a certificate, trophy, bag, bottle and a Pen from Google. |

A team of eight students led by teacher incharge Ms. I. Barua visited Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to represent India at the International Conference of Young Scientists' 2019 from 19 to 25 April 2019. 151 students from 26 countries participated and engaged themselves in the stimulation of scientific research, communication, friendship and sharing of knowledge and ideas under the domain of 6 fields - Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering. Team India won a Bronze medal and Special prize under Environmental Sciences.
The team also visited the Petronas Twin Towers, the limestone cave temple - Batu Caves and were introduced to the food, textile and natural beauty of Kuala Lumpur. |

The first round of Korea Quiz was conducted on 5 April, 2019 in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. 1184 students from Classes VIII to XII participated in this quiz. 10 students have qualified for the next round to be held in the Korean Embassy on 12 April, 2019. They are Sanah Malik (XII A), Vyom Gupta (XII D), Sanskar Gupta (XII F), Dhruv Bansal (XI H), Geshna Gulati (XI D), Antariksh Goel (X C), Sangam Koundal (X E), Radhika Ahuja (X B), Pratham Gupta (IX B) and Naitik Aggarwal (VIII A). |
