| Edtera Conducted an excursion trip for class VI & VII to the historical locations of Red Fort and Qutab Minar on 20 and 24 November 2010 respectively. Students enjoyed the experiential journey – stopping for a brief introduction at every architectural marvel within the complex or warm-up activities or squatting on the greens for the lovely spread of food. They actively participated in activities encouraging creative thinking and perception like ‘Create Your Own Empire’, ‘Treasure Hunt’ was a breathtaking search for information on the buildings which left no corner untrodden. The most deserving team of the day received merit certificates from Edtera. |
| The students of classes IV and V of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went to visit the holy and historical city of Amritsar on 24 – 25 September 2010. It was fun – filled, educational and exciting trip. The students visited Wagah Border, where they witnessed the Flag Retreat ceremony of India and Pakistan. The students and teachers also became the part of the ceremony as they ran with the National Flag till the Indian Gate at the border. The whole atmosphere was filled with excitement and thrill and a lot of patriotism was seen amongst all present there. At night the students had a gala time at the party, in the hotel where Tambola rounds and dance competition was held. Next morning there was a visit to the histoirical Jalianwala Bagh where the students were informed about the monuments and they also paid tribute to the ones who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of India. Thereafter, everyone visited the Golden Temple and offered prayers. The students were really excited to see the architecture of the temple. Finally the trip concluded with the shopping to the nearby market. The whole experience was really enjoyable. |
The students of Class III of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went on an educational trip to Jaipur
on 17 September 2010. The stay was at Chokhi Dhani Resort. On the first day various places were visited like Albert Hall Museum, Birla Temple , etc. In the evening the students saw puppet show, magic show and enjoyed on swings. The next day visit included Hawa Mahal, Jal Mahal and Amber Fort. The students were then taken to a government emporium where they enjoyed shopping.
The trip was very enriching and a learning experience for the children. They enjoyed the trip and their stay at Chokhi Dhani. |
| Students of class VIII along with Science teachers of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, visited Delhi Milk Scheme, West Patel Nagar on 17 July 2010. Through live demonstration, they learnt about pasteurization and packaging of milk. They were also informed about how milk can be adulterated. |
Come summer vacation and it was time for students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, to experience foreign shores.
15 students with a teacher, Mrs. Geeta Rajan visited Kaarina High School, Finland. They stayed with the host families. During their one week stay, they attended classes and learnt Finnish and Swedish at the school. Also during the week the Indian students took part in a variety of activities and visited many places. The students had the experience of the traditional Finnish Sauna, went for a nature trail walk, competed in the Amazing Race, tried their hand in Finnish Baseball, went for a guided tour to the neighbouring city of Turku and last but not the least were part of the amazing treasure hunt. Thus, the students got a real taste of Finnish culture.
The Indian students also visited Helsinki, the capital of Finland. They then took the ferry to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia where they visited Lasnamae Gymnasium. |
| Three teachers and thirty three students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went on an excursion trip to Thailand-The Land of White Elephants from May 17 to May 21, 2010.The 36 member group had a memorable experience in Pattaya- a well known fishing town near the sea in Thailand and a sought after tourist destination. The tour was a well balanced amalgam of work and recreation .The visiting spots chosen were Nong Nooch Village which displayed Thai culture and tradition, Elephant show, and Flora and Fauna of the region), The Million Year Stone Park with a breath taking Crocodile Farm, Floating Market, Dream World- A Theme park for children the highlight of which was the Snow Town, Coral Island (with Parasailing, Banana boat ride, Speed boat ride and Sea bike rafting),World’s largest Gem Factory (with a ride in a mono rail viewing formation , mining, refining, cutting, setting and display of gems). A photo book, authored by the students, capturing all salient features of the trip took shape simultaneously. The visit to The Land of Smiles will surely be recalled with a smile by all the members of the group. |
Four students, alongwith the Vice Principal Ms. Veena Wahi, of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, took part in the MI-World International Conference from 28 April 2010 to 9 May 2010, at Millennia Institute in Singapore. There were nine participating countries from all over the world, which included Argentina, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Indonesia, Sweden, Singapore and India. It was a matter of pride that the school was selected to represent India, at such a conference. The objective of this conference was to give exposure to the students about the ‘Education System’ followed in different parts of the world, and at the same time, to strengthen the ties of friendship amongst the participating nations. The students stayed with the host families, attended school everyday, right from the assembly to the class room sessions, which proved to be a great learning experience. They also toured around Singapore with teachers and other students. They visited the Singapore Zoo, the Concert Hall – Esplanade where they had an amazing race. They also visited the popular Sentosa Island, little India and China Town. The best part of their learning experience, was the Adventure Camp where they took a nature walk, alongwith various physical activities like flying fox.
At the opening ceremony, presided over by the Mayor of Singapore students from the participating countries showcased their culture. Our students presented the famous ‘Kal Beliya’ dance from Rajasthan.
Altogether, it was an enriching experience for the students as they learned a lot and at the same time got a chance to shed the poverty – stricken image of India to showcase a progressive nation in its place.

Kamp Kalsi / Leadership camp was organised at Padampuri from 19th to 23rd May 2010. 63 students and 6 teachers participated in this camp from our school. The camp was located at a beautiful site with backdrop of hills and forest. It included many activities like burma bridge crossing, commmando bridge, net crawl, wriggling, tarzan crossing, rappling, raft building, trekking, bonfire and village interaction.
Our students whole heartedly participated in each and every activity'. The camp really helped in inculcating leadership qualities in the students. |
 Students of classes III & IV along with five teachers went to Jaipur. They visited a number of tourist places. They were enthralled on seeing the majestic Amer Fort and the Albert Museum.
 They were also taken to a factory where various things were made out of hand made paper and sold in the market.
The trip was informative, enjoyable and fun filled. |
 Students of classes VI, VI and VIII went on an educational trip to Udaipur and Chittorgarh. They were taken to Chittorgarh Fort where history came alive with the vivid description of the Fort, its architecture and the events attached to it.
The next day, the students were shown the Udaipur City or the White City, as it is popularly called. The majesty and grandeur of the City Palace was breathtaking and the view of Lake Palace and Uday Vilas was equally enchanting.
The evenings were full of fun and entertainment with the local artists performing folk dances and Puppet Shows. Overall, it was an interesting and enlightening trip for the students as well as the accompanying staff members. |

| Some of our students visited the 'Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre' at Tagore Garden, New Delhi on 28 September 2009. The members of 'Companimals Club' were the fortunate few. They were warmly welcomed to the centre. Ms. Ambika Shukla, an excellent guide gave a brief introduction to the teachers and students about the animal centre and asked them to explore the same. She emphasized on certain topics like being a vegetarian, adopting Indian dogs and not foreign breeds, not keeping aquariums at home and other issues related to the environment. They gained knowledge about vaccination of animals, their breeds and saw their hospital, I.C.U and X-Ray Room. They were also told not to cage animals and allow them to live freely. It was an enlightening experience for all of them and it inculcated in them the need to extend a hand of love and care towards all animals. |
An educational trip to AMRITSAR was organized for students of Class V of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 28 & 29 August 2009. They were given an extensive guided tour of the Jallianwala Bagh and the Golden Temple. They were told about the religious history of the place and also about the patriotic fervour in the natives of Punjab.
The students was witnessed the Retreat Ceremony and Parade by BSF Jawans at the Wagah Border. The trip was an enjoyable and knowledgeable experience for the students as well as the escorting teacher. |
A group of 32 students of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh along with 3 teachers attended camp - Anubhav during the summer vacations at Padampuri near Bhimtal. They were captivated by the scenic beauty of that place. The activities during Shooting, Water Sports (Rafting) and Night Trekking.
It was an exciting and enriching experience for the students as the activities really boosted their confidence level. |
| The students of classes IV & V of the Exploration Club of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh were taken for various religious places on a visit. First they were taken to St. Gregorious Church where they were shown around by a member of the Church. Later they were taken to a Gurudwara adjacent to the Church where they were shown the Holy book of Sikhs. The last stop was the Sanatan Dharam Mandir. The trip instilled in them respect for all religious and emphasized the fact that India is a secular country where various religious co-exist peacefully. |
| The students of classes I to V were taken on the annual picnic between 27 January 2009 to 29 January 2009. The venue was Fun ‘n’ Food Village. All the students and even tiny tots of class I enjoyed all the possible rides and had a lot of fun. There was a dance competition as well and many students and teachers won prizes for their dancing talents. The students of classes VI to IX and XI were taken to Adventure Island in the month of February and it was indeed an enthralling experience for all of them. |
