We want our students to have enthusiasm, energy and a positive approach to life, along with skills in verbal communication and social interaction. This is why, we are part of Helen O’Grady International, the world’s largest after-school developmental drama programme widely used in over 25 countries across the globe. The programme enhances the 4Cs in every child i.e., skills of communication, collaboration, creativity and confidence. The students who were part of HOGI presented ‘Hare & Tortoise’, ‘Cinderella & Chicken in a Hurry’ displaying the skills learnt in the HOGI class - characterisation, expressions,technique of multiple sentence flow and voice modulation. |

The language teachers had an opportunity to attend an interactive session with Mr. Amit Dahiya Badshah, Poet Laureate. He talked about how each of us has a poet within us and how poetry can change the mindset of the people.
He also recited some of his wonderful poems dedicated to his mother, nature, about his transition from a village boy to a city dweller, tiger. He recited poems in English, Hindi and Punjabi. |

Ishita Arora (XI-B) and Ragini Sharma (XI-C) participated in Know Your Constitution, a quiz marking the 70th anniversary of the Indian constitution, organized by the Doordarshan Kendra, Delhi for classes VII to XI. The quiz took place in the Doordarshan studio. The quiz had a preliminary round where forty three teams comprising of two students each were to give a written examination. Out of the forty three, the top sixteen scorers qualified for the next round. It was an amazing exposure for our students who got to know a lot more about our Constitution, its history and facts. |

This year we were collaborating with JCD STEM Partnership School, Illinois, USA on the topic, ‘Reading – A Window to the World’. We were supposed to make a website on the above mentioned topic. So, in February our students had a Skype session with Ms. Deborah Nelson, the teacher coordinator from the partner school, wherein the students came up with amazing ideas to be incorporated in the project to be uploaded on the website. They also discussed about their experience of working in this project so far. |

A year long awareness drive named Chetna, was conducted to spread messageabout bullying, digital detox, substance abuse and exam stress for students ofclasses VII, VIII and IX.
The activities conducted by teachers, students and guidance counsellor todisseminate the information included power point presentations, videos, posterand chart making activity, role plays, Anti bullying pledge, meditation, webinarand class talks were also a part of the awareness drive.
Just before the exams, three sessions were taken about dealing with exam stressat different time intervals, wherein learning techniques were discussed, strategies were shared with students, their queries were addressed and onesession was dedicated to teach meditation techniques so that students can alsorelax while preparing for exams. |

“God be with you till we meet again“.
We bid farewell to Ms. K. Mehta after 30 years of valuable service in our school.
The farewell began with the felicitation by our Principal Ms. A. Aggarwal followed by our Vice Principals sharing their experiences of the nostalgic moments shared with her. A colourful programme with songs and dances was presented by the teachers of St. Marks while students walked down the memory lane remembering her lessons as well as the guidance that she gave them at every level. |

Holi symbolizes the celebration of colours in Nature in the spring season. But unfortunately, like other festivals, Holi has become commercialised and yet another source of environmental degradation.
To generate awareness amongst students to celebrate an eco friendly Holi, Eco club members made Organic holi colours using, henna, turmeric, amla, gram flour, dried flower petals etc. This was followed by a talk on harmful effects of holi colours. |

The festival of Maha Shivaratri is the most important festival for millions of devotees of Lord Shiva. The day is celebrated to venerate Lord Shiva. It is celebrated on the new moon day in the month of Maagha according to the Hindu calendar. A board was prepared by the students of Class V-F which covered information about its significance and rituals related to it. It was followed by a multimedia presentation on 'Maha Shivratri' shown in all the sections of Class V. |

The National Deworming Day is observed on February 10, 2020 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and its main objective in to deworm children between the ages of 1 to 19 at schools.
Deworming helps children improve their health. Worm infections lead to an increased susceptibility to illness and disease (e.g. – anemia, intestinal obstructions). Worms diminish the ability to properly absorb vitamins and can also effect the mental and physical development. |

Reading not only has tremendous power when it comes to fueling the development of all aspects of language ability but also acts a pleasurable and new experience.
To help underscore this point, on 24 January 2020, our school in association with Scholastic India Pvt. Ltd. participated in their ‘One Nation Reading Together’ annual event, where children in schools across the country spent 40 minutes, reading for fun and participating in other activities that celebrate reading as a pleasurable and enriching experience.
All the students as well as the staff members of our school dedicated 40 minutes reading the book of their choice. Students of Classes I to V created posters emphasizing the importance of reading. |

India International Centre, Gandhi Yuva Biradari and Working Group on Alternative strategies commemorated the 91st Birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. on Tuesday, 21 January 2020 at India International Centre, wherein ten students of our school participated.
The very idea was to spread the message of hope and courage for people throughout the world and to bring children closer to the enduring legacy of Mahatma Gandhi’s non violent struggle for equity, justice, pluralism and sustainable development.
It was followed by an interactive session and a Question-Answer round in which Pulak Mohanty (XI-C) won the prize. |

Ms. A. Mehta, after spending meritorious 25 years of teaching in the school was given a farewell by the students and staff members of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. A morning assembly was organized and students of middle section thanked her for all her efforts and hardwork and appreciated all the valuable skills and knowledge imparted to them.
A small get together was organised to bid farewell to the teacher. Everyone expressed their sincerest gratitude. Cake cutting was done and gifts and memento were given to her. Our Principal, Ms. A. Aggarwal, Vice Principals Ms. R. Anand, Ms. A. Gupta and the staff members wished her good luck. |

Science activities that you can eat are always full of fun.
The students of V-C did the Oreo Cookie Moon Phases hands-on activity today. It’s almost as if Oreo cookies were made for this lesson, and it was a great way to learn how to match a moon phase name with a moon phase appearance. |
