Community Outreach Programmes
Students of SMWS also get the opportunity to give back to society through community service programmes which include help in the form of basic necessities like books, stationary, clothes, etc. to aid those in need.
Our students work with organizations like ‘GOONJ’ and ‘Nirmal Hriday’ which take care of the underprivileged and NGO’S like ‘Angel Eyes’ that work for Animal Welfare.
Understanding their duty towards society, the students work for different home projects which enable them to render their service to the underprivileged. Some of the projects run by the students and teachers of the schools are:
PROJECT UDAAN - is aninitiative taken by the students and teachers of the school to educate the students of a nearby slum. The underprivileged and destitute children are not only educated but also provided books, stationery and other supplies needed for their education emphasizing on the importance of education.
PROJECT PROTSAHAN - is run by the Commerce students of our school. They have developed a unique idea to create funds which are used for the students who are taught under Project Udaan. The zealous students create useful items out of waste which are sold at a nominal price during festivals or PTMs. The funds generated are used for charity. The young entrepreneurs not only learn how to do business but understand their obligation towards society.
EK MUTHI ANAAJ - is anendeavour to collect a fist full of grain from the students and provide it to those who sleep hungry in their hutments. The initiative further makes the students responsible citizens and creates sensitization that we must serve one another with love.
