With this enigmatic thought in mind a delegation of 32 i students from Classes 6 to 11 visited the College of Arts to experience its 68th Annual Art Exhibition - ANUBHUTI.
Students had a lifetime experience where they got to see the exemplary artworks in their various forms.
Paintings in various mediums, sculptures in their divinity and larger than life exhibits not only inspired our students but had them awestruck that how art can transcend into our lives with its beauty and fluidity. |

Our school organised a fun filled excursion to the world of games - SMAASH that included Virtual Reality Games, Arcade Games, Bowling, and many more.
Class IV and V students got a wonderful opportunity to interact with peers and adults outside the classroom, which can improve their social skills.
They had a perfect ending to the day with a dancing session to groove on! |

What else could one want for oneself on these winter days.... respite from the cold, spike of tasty flavours and loads of sunshine?
Well this wishful thinking came to realisation when students of Classes 6 and 7 were taken for a fun filled outing to Smaash Gaming Arcade.
The warm ambience provided the required warmth, the games and friends brought the sunshine and gastronomical urges were satiated by the warm food served. Students were exhausted playing the unlimited virtual reality games, bowling alley smoked fire, 3 D visual games were a superhit amongst our students but after all this fun the highlight of the day became the dance floor. Students had a blast grooving to their favourite dance numbers.
The day ended with immense fun, frolic and laughter, yearning for more.

| The students of Class VIII went for a picnic to Smaaash at RCube Monad Mall in Rajouri Garden on 15 January 2024. Plenty of games like bumpy car, Jurassic escape, haunted hospital, standing roller coaster and most fascinating of all bowling kept the students thrilled and have exhilarating adventure. Amazing food and drinks served added to the splendid time spent there. The students were seen dancing on the dance floor and enjoying with their fellow mates. It was an ideal time that gave moments of joy and relaxation. |

| In association with Hindustan Times, our students of Class IV, VI and VII got an opportunity to visit the Bharat Darshan Park that allows you to see landmarks of the whole country like: The Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar, Khajuraho Temple, Sanchi Stupa and many more in Delhi. Monuments are created with around 350 tonne of waste material and feature replicas of historical and religious sites. The theme park is environmentally friendly, as it is powered by solar energy. The visit ended up successfully achieving its goal of providing the students with knowledge in a fun style. |

“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”
With this intention and resolve 91 students of our school of Classes 6-9 along with a team of 9 teachers headed with extreme enthusiasm towards the Rocksport Adventure Camp in Bhowali.
The journey started from the school premises at 4:00 am on 19 May 2023 where the nervous parents came to bid adieu to their excited yet apprehensive wards who were being sent to explore their capabilities and their adventurous side.
The almost 100+ group along with the Rocksport instructors boarded the New Delhi - Kathgodam Shatabdi express from New Delhi Railway station which was deboarded at Kathgodam station from where the journey was continued in a massive convoy of 13 SUVs which finally made us reach our destination, The Walnut Camp after a nerve wrecking off-road ride.
The journey was followed with a scrumptious meal at the campsite. After the meal students were taken to their briefing of the camp etiquettes and the schedule for various activities. Allotment of tents and cottages were done after which students rushed in their groups towards the adventure sports ZipLine, Hangman and HRC.
It was a fun-filled experience for all the students.
The day culminated with campsite reverberating and delving into a super exhilarating round of Antakshari at the Bonfire.
The day at Rocksport Camp culminated with a zeal and hope for a new day filled with amazing activities. |

Never, ever underestimate the importance of having FUN!
Keeping this in mind, the students of Classes 8 and 9 were taken to see a movie, “Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway” by ‘The Times of India.’ It was a gripping movie based on a real story, in which an immigrant Indian mother fights the Norwegian foster care system and legal machinery to win back custody of her children. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the movie and came back refreshed. |

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is currently excavating Delhi’s Purana Qila. The excavation is being led by Dr. Vasant Swarnkar and this is the third season of excavation at Purana Qila after excavations in the year 2013-14 & 2017-18.
The presentation on the ASI digs at Purana Qila was made by Dr. Swarnkar at INTACH on 18th April and we are glad that the ASI agreed too to have students experience this and learn about the facets of a dig and the objects excavated. Our school was invited for the visit to the ongoing excavation at Purana Qila. Few students of History stream along with their History teacher got to witness Mauryan period ringwells, drains, housing complexes, metal objects, Mughal period objects and much more.
The students appreciated the efforts of the archeologists on finding valuable historical facts. |

| It was time for fun and frolic yet again which brought a glint in the eyes and a sunny smile on the lovely faces of our students from Class 5. It was a special day for them, the day they were anxiously awaiting for, their annual picnic. We all look forward to picnics, whatever our age may be. With excitement brimming in their hearts, the students reached Adventure Island, Rohini. They enjoyed a variety of rides with their teachers followed by a hot, delectable meal. The students had an amazing time when they gyrated on the dance floor and showcased their dancing talent. The day filled ourhearts with long lasting memories. |

Keeping this perspective in mind, an excursion to Andventure Island was organized for the students of Class 6. Brimming with enthusiasm, the students geared up to enjoy the rides. Students got an opportunity to explore a world of excitement and fun. It was an altogether a funfilled and thrilling experience for all. |

"Unless you are at a picnic,life is no picnic."
These words were given life when students of Class VII went for their Annual Picnic at the Adventure Island.
And what a pleasure it was to watch them come out of their shells and bring out their fun side. It was after a hiatus of almost three years when they went in a big group shunning all their concerns of studies, projects, tests and exams and how did they let their hair loose!
Excitement had reached new heights with friends, Adventure Island Rides, Lunch, Ice-creams and their reverberating DJ to which our girls burned the dance floor.
The picnic not only regaled our students but also rejuvenated them for the upcoming exams. They came back energised and invigorated.

| We live and work but must not forget to play, to have fun in life and really enjoy it. A picnic is fun, it inspires a sense of mindfulness and adds pleasentness to our lives. The much anticipated annual picnic brought exuberance and cheer to the lives of the students of Class IX when they visited Adventure Island. Their faces glowed with joy and mirth and they were in high spirits as they enjoyed the rides, the scrumptious food and cavorted to the foot tapping music. The trip was indeed a fresh breath of air and children returned with memories to cherish. |

| Sometimes a break from the routine is the very thing you need. To give our students a welcome relief from their routine before the onset of their final exams, they were taken on their Annual Picnic. The fun filled trip to Adventure Island proved to be an incredible energiser for all the students of Classes XI, giving them all a chance to get outdoors with friends and enjoy their time together. All the students enjoyed the exhilarating rides, sumptuous food and the foot tapping music on the DJ floor. The much awaited picnic after long years of Covid brought immense joy to the students as they get back from their virtual get togethers to real ones thus making precious memories that shall last long after the exhilaration of the rides and the beats of the music fade away - memories that shall last them a lifetime. |

Fun and learning go hand in hand, for recreation is an essential element of education. With this in mind, students of Class VIII were taken to Adventure Island for picnic.
Students had a delightful day where they enjoyed fun rides, dance and delectable food. As the day progressed, they interacted very closely with their classmates, deepened their bonds of friendship and even overcame their inhibitions with a spirit of adventure as they explored the more thrilling rides.
Children returned cheerfully after a boisterous day full of merriment, refreshed for getting back to learning. |

It is rightly said, "Sometimes the best therapy is to just take a break from the daily routine and have some fun!".
With this thought in mind, the Class XII students of our school were taken for an excursion to Adventure Island. Lots of fun and laughter were witnessed when the students were seen enjoying all the playful rides of the amusement park. Their enjoyment had no bounds when they shook their legs on the DJ floor with their friends. Followed by a nutritious and scrumptious meal, the students experienced a wholesome day with their friends which made them feel revived n rejuvenated, thereby giving them the much required boost to start preparing for their upcoming Preboard and Board examination with clear minds and new found energies.
Indeed, it was a much needed break for them! |

Christmas is the most beautiful time of the year. There’s a certain magic that comes with it which tells something wonderful is bound to happen.
The little tiny tots of class Seedling started their Christmas celebrations with a visit to the church. The children were really excited since this experience was altogether new for them. The calm and serene atmosphere of the Church filled them with renewed energy. They lit candles and enjoyed singing carols. They also gave cards and gifts in the church as a token of love. |

Critical thinking, connection to the past, and self-discovery are some of the benefits of a visit to a museum.
Evidence from a recent study shows that even a single field trip to a museum can increase student’s ability to appreciate and understand what life was like for people from other periods. Each work of art is a window onto new words for students. Those worlds offer students a broadening of their worlds. Thus, St. Marks World School initiated a day tour for the History students of Class XI to the National Archive Museum and the National Museum. It was a great learning experience and the young minds appreciated our glorious past. |

An educational trip to Kidzania was organised for the students of Classes I to III. Kidszania - an educational concept ,is a global indoor park that inspires, educates and empowers kids, helping them understand and manage their world better. Ours kids enjoyed learning while playing. They did many real life role play based activities. The day for the students was a perfect mix of fun, learning and socialising. |

Tiny tots of Sapling went for an excursion to Mughal Garden.
There were variety of flowers like tulips, roses, lilies, pansies in varied hues. Their excitement knew no bounds to see the beautiful and colourful flowers in the garden. They were mesmerised with the beauty of nature. |

There's nothing as exciting as school picnic.
To break the monotony of the routine school life, SMGS organised a picnic to The Rail Museum and The Waste to Wonder Park for the students of Class V. The students were amazed to see a huge engine at the entrance gate of the Rail Museum that entranced them and a wave of excitement shot through the group. Students were enthralled to see the exhibits of wagons, coaches and engines displayed in the exhibition hall. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the toy train ride and were particularly thrilled when the train passed through the tunnel. Afterwards, they were taken to another well known attraction in Delhi, The Waste to Wonder park which features the replicas of iconic seven wonders of the world, created from industrial and other waste including scrap iron, thrown away automobile parts, broken metal utensils and pipes. Students learnt that how it provides a boost to the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' and will forge ahead in transforming waste to wealth. They came back with a pandora box of knowledge, which made the excursion fruitful and joyous. |

“Children must be taught HOW TO THINK, not what to think”, and what else is better than a field trip.
Class I of St. Mark’s Girls Sr. Sec. School got the opportunity to enjoy real life role plays in Kidzania. It was a perfect outing for our children on the 13th February 2020. It gives children an environment that allows them to do what naturally comes to them i.e. role-playing by mimicking real-world adult roles like being a nurse, reporter, chef, pilot and a lot more. This field trip was one of the school’s intrinsic way of enhancing learning. It was a fun filled day. |

St. Mark's Girls Sr. Sec. School organized a picnic to Kidzania for the students of Class II on 12 February, 2020. Unlike any traditional theme park or entertainment zone, Kidzania provides an environment that empowers kids to explore the wide and amazing world. The students were ready to take up any challenge that came their way to earn Kidzos. The students indulged in various activities which stimulated their creative thinking and boosted their self confidence. Through this experience, they also learnt real life values, social skills and team work. |

Nothing’s better than a picnic. Students classes of Seedling and Sapling were filled with joy and enthusiasm as they spend a delightful day at Kidzania. This amusement park for kids emulates the working of a real city built to scale for kids where they enjoyed a number of role play activities and learnt how various professionals carry out their duties. Students took part in activities like delivering a parcel, baking pizza at Domino’s, driving car, radio jockeying, Courtroom scene, grooming a new born baby and many more.
The students learnt that how people from different professions help us in our daily lives.Overall it was fun and enriching experience for our students. |

Keeping the above view in mind, a field trip to the National Bal Bhawan was organized by St. Mark’s Girls Sr. Sec. School on 1 February 2020 for the students of Class IV which aimed at providing opportunities for creative pursuits to children. The children witnessed alel the attractions present there starting with the Indian Air force Museum where LED displays running videos related to IAF excercises/operations, models of IAF aircraft, digital flexes etc., appealed to them. It was followed by the National Children Museum where the children saw a rich collection of objects that fascinated children including toys and dolls from different countries, stone and bronze objects, traditional jewellery, utensils, art and craft material, musical instruments etc. Then was the turn of Magic Mirrors that reflected funny, distorted images of anyone looking into them.
Children found them very amusing and funny. After that, children moved forward to see the Museum Hamara Bharat, where through a series of miniature dioramas, they got an opportunity to get a glimpse of the Indian history, its throbbing culture, rich art and craft, diversity of rituals and religions, India’s glorious past, its battles and victories etc., Next in queue was the Jawahar Fish Aquarium where children got an insight about the aquatic world. Other attraction was the Art Gallery where children observed various kinds of paintings namely Madhubani, Warli etc. The children moved forward to see Sanskriti Shilpa Gram, the Indian Village of National Bal Bhawan where children were amazed to see a village scene with small huts, swings, a well and women standing near it to draw water, a cow and its calf, a bull and a farmer etc. It not only delighted the children but also motivated them to learn more about the Indian Heritage. The exciting field trip concluded with witnessing the Mini Zoo where children were thrilled on seeing ducks fluttering when they came out of water, the rare varieties of pigeons wearing feathers that looked like overcoats and the rabbits that looked as white as snow. They learnt to take care of the sick animals and developed a feeling of love and compassion for all living things. This field trip made children all the more eager to be a part of more such visits in future. |

A picnic is a fun outing that helps one break away from the humdrum of routine life. Everyone needs a day off from the mundane routine to relax and have some quality time with friends. To give our Class X students this much needed break, a picnic was organised for them to Pratapgarh Farms on 21st January 2020. The students had a great time as they enjoyed hot meals in the cold weather and had great fun riding camels, tractors and bullock carts.
The adventurous and playful spirit of the girls was evident when they crossed the burma bridge and played various traditional games. The day was full of fun and laughter, and surely gave the girls memories to cherish forever. |

St. Marks Girl’s Sr. Sec. School, Meera Bagh organised a four day Educational Tour to Southern India during 14.1.20 to 17.1.20 for students of Class VIII, IX and XI.
The journey kick started from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm.
The first place to visit was The Crocodile Bank Trust and Centre for Herpetology, one of the largest reptile zoo with over 2500 reptiles, followed by the famous city of Mahabalipuram enroute Pondicherry. Our students visited the famous Shore Temple, Arjuna’s Penenance, Krishna Mandapam and Varaha Mandapam in Mahabalipuram. What caught the attention of our young enthusiasts was a giagantic granite boulder called Krishna’s Butterball resting on a short incline.
Our students spent some amazing time at Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville, Rock Beach and Paradise Beach, Pondicherry on Day 2. After admiring the silence and beauty of the Samadhi of Shri Aurobindo and Mother, it was time to experience the Chunnambar backwater boating to reach Praradise Beach. The blue water, golden sand and no sign of busy city-life, all in confluence make it a true paradise.
To satisfy the urge of knowing about space and what goes on launching satellites and explore more, our student delegation visited ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) - SDSC (Satish Dhawan Space Centre), SHAR, Sriharikota on Day 3, wherein they were made aware of the different launch pads for GSLV and PSLV.The excitement rose when they got to know that they were standing at the place where Chandrayaan II was launched recently.
On the last day of the trip, our students spent some good time at Santhome Cathedral Basilica and Marina Beach, the largest beach in Asia which happens to be the most dynamic beach in Chennai.
To sum up the entire experience, Chennai is an unusual city. It’s not dynamic like Mumbai or glittering like Delhi; yet it has a charm of its own. |
