Quiz for Classes 5 to 8 - (12 October 2022)

To inculcate the Science temperament in our students Science Quest 2022 is being organised in the school from 10th October to 12th October 2022. During the quest, Science Quiz was held for Classes 5 - 8 on 11th October 2022. Two different quizzes were conducted during the day to ignite the inquisitive mindset of our students.

The students from each Class participated in the quiz, house wise. Students of 5 and 6 juggled their brains to find answers to the questions from Animal Kingdom whereas students of Classes 7 and 8 wracked their brains to find answers to questions from Structure of atom, Laws of Motion, Micro organisms and Forms of Energy.

The quiz was an endearing venture to trigger the Scientific Aptitude in our students.

Science Quest: Character Dramatisation - (11 October 2022)

Drama in education provides a unique and irreplaceable educational experience involving both feelings and emotions in a way that results in a more effective form of education. Keeping this in mind our school organized character dramatisation activity for the ongoing science quest for the students of Class IX. Through role-play participants were given the chance to explore and discover both themselves and the wider world. The students enjoyed presenting stories on various Scientists, scientific concepts and phenomena. It was a great learning experience for them.

Quest 2022 - (11 October 2022)

Festivals are zest of Life and Science Quest is a Fest of Science.

To celebrate the ongoing festival of science, QUEST 2022 various events are being organized in St.. Mark’s World School, Meera Bagh on 11th October 2022, an Inter-House Quiz was organized for the students of Class XI of science stream in which the four different houses, with fervent participants in each house gave a tough battle to each other in all five rounds. The aim of the competition was to make the students turn the pages of knowledge they have about the development of science and technology and logical reasoning and aptitude etc. Their awareness about the chemical compounds we use in our daily life, their knowledge about space along with the credits we owe to all the great scientists for their contribution in making science take a giant leap was tested in the form of quiz questions. The students showcased their brilliance by rapidly answering the questions. It was a very informative and knowledge enriching competition for the participants along with the audience. Although, all the houses actively participated, students of Nehru house in XI-A secured the first position and students of Patel and Shastri House in XI-E had a tie. It was a unique and interesting way of making the children learn about science and its various fields out of books and classroom teaching.

Science educational activities provide children with opportunities to develop many different skills and attributes, and initiate resourcefulness in them.

To provide opportunities for the students to exhibit their innate capacity in a fun filled environment and create a spirit of innovation and creativity, SMGS organised fun-filled Science activities for students of Classes VI-IX.

These included Class VI Group discussion on communicable diseases and healthy diet, Class VII Pamphlet making activity on water conservation, Class VIII Mind mapping activity on Plastic pollution, Class IX Scavenger Hunt, enthusing the scientific temper in the young minds of our students.

IIMT Science Fair 2020 - (2020)

It’s a proud moment for us as our students Kanan Thukral from Class X and Pritika Thukral from Class XII bagged first position and Varnika Goel from Class XII made it to top 12 during the Science Fair 2020 organized by IIMT group of colleges, Science & Technology Department for classes IX, X, XI & XII, with more than 500 teams from schools from all over India. VARNIKA GOEL showcased a Low Cost LPG Leakage Detector, and PRITIKA THUKRAL & KANAN THUKRAL showcased a Smart Mask. For the top 12 selected teams there was an online assessment through the platform Zoom. Pritika and Kanan were awarded cash prize and both the teams were awarded e-certificates.

This virtually based event gave the students the opportunity to display their knowledge about Science and Technology.

Orientation Program on The Avishkaar Program - (30 September 2019)

The learning curve of school children is built in a number of unique and interesting ways. Among the most appealing ones with high recall value, is the practical application of knowledge learnt from this methodology. Avishkaar – an experiential learning organization conducted an orientation session for the students of Class IV to IX on 30th September, 2019. Resource person Ms. Pooja introduced the students to different activities that they will perform in the course of this program. Students were made aware about the engineering design process. They also learnt about importance of experiential learning which enhances analytical and problem solving skills. This orientation program has definitely motivated our students to learn further about mechanical modelling.
