We all agree that childhood is a world of miracle, magic, colour and expression. Every child is an artist and they acquire almost all the creativity from purposeful play. Keeping this in mind 'Block Painting' activity was organized for the students of Classes I to III to bring out their hidden creativity. Students used blocks of varied designs to make different imprints by using poster colours. The excitement was evident on their faces when they dipped the blocks in paint to imprint it.

Art is an expression of mind and soul. Engaging in art is essential to the human experience. For eons, great artists created works of art that have shaped cultures. Art touches the soul of not only the artist but of all human kind. Our creation elates us and takes us to a new level of trance. To create such blissful moments, St. Marks Girls Sr. Sec. School, Meera Bagh, hosted an on-the-spot Art Competition for the students of Classes I to V.
The competition was like an extravaganza for the little painters, as they used their prowess in painting, blended with perception while depicting their themes on paper. The ebullience with which the young artists created the strokes and painted the canvases with vibrant hues was a feast for the eyes. The students created sceneries on themes like Butterflies on flowers, Colorful Festival, My favouritetoy, Spring season, etc. The event not only showcased the talent, creativity, and unbridled imagination of the students but was a platform to deliver a message that the school fraternity believes in keeping the students elated and their spirits high, even in these unprecedented times of a pandemic. The sheer exuberance of the event was exhilarating as it left an indelible imprint on the minds of participants and spectators too. |

Life is a blank canvas, and we are the painters. You hold your brush, choose your palette and begin to fill your blank canvas, realizing that you are the artist of your destiny.
Visual arts teach learners about color, layout, perspective, and balance of techniques that help them think creatively, improve their imagination and motor skills. The students from Classes 1 to 5 participated enthusiastically in the activity 'White Canvas' wherein they explored their artistic skills and engaged in playful thinking. |

“The world is a canvas. Let’s not let the artist within fade away.."
SMGS conducted an On - The - Spot Virtual Art Event for the parents of students in the Classes VI to IX on 21 May 2021. It was an opportunity for the parents to revisit their childhood memories and reminisce those days when they enjoyed colouring the canvas and being amidst water colours, poster colours, oil pastels and crayons.
It is rightly said that one paints object as one thinks them; not as one sees them. The virtual invitation of ‘Rang Chitran’ was a call to such artistic and creative work wherein the parent’s participation was also a booster for their children. It was stupendous to see the picturesque colouring, exotic paintbrush strokes and phenomenal sketches in the window of the Microsoft Teams. This mega platform was a thrilling experience for the parents to get acquainted with the artist in them. |
