SMGS always ensures to keep the creative lantern burning bright and high in our students’ minds.
Celebrating BOOK DAY with our children, we unlocked yet another level of talent, genius, and imagination as the young girls, alongwith their ever-so enthusiastic parents stepped forth to participate in a live activity session, delving deep into the characters of our literary world.
They had their ‘fan-girl’ moment as they dressed as their most likeable characters, researched and read about them and presented ever so beautifully.
We also unleashed their inner R. K. Laxmans, as they drew up amazing comic strips in a span of an hour.
Truly, there’s nothing than can hinder St. Markians. |

Great literature is simply language charged with meaning to the utmost possible degree. Thus, to help our students explore the magical world of words, our school organised its annual Book Week in the month of December 2018. The students of Classes I to IX and XI were engaged in multifarious activities that helped them exhibit their creativity as well as learn a lot about self expression and language. The students of Class I expressed their love for their alma mater by penning down a few lines on the topic ‘My School and I'. The little cherubims of Class II took up the challenge of solving a crossword that was a mixed bag of Figures of Speech. Students of class III indulged in Character Enactment in the most fun way as their activity was ‘Guess Who am I?’. Students of Class IV enthralled one and allthrough their creative writing as they put on paper their thoughts on the topic ‘I want a selfie with ......’. The Ad Mad presentations put forth by students of Class V were a delight to watch while the Jingles prepared by the pupils of class VI were a treat for the spectators. Students of Class VII weaved beautiful stories around pictures that were given to them from newspapers. It was interesting to see our budding actors when the students of class VIII enacted monologues of their favourite characters from Hollywood flicks based on novels. Students of Class IX tweeted their views about the current political scenario in the country while the pupils of Class XI donned the cap of bloggers who put forth their notions about the recent Supreme Court ruling about the food to be served at weddings. The Book Week was definitely a fun filled expedition taken up by the students of our school wherein they even got an opportunity to treat themselves to a new collection of books put up at the Book Fair. |
