“Dance is the joy of movement and the heart of life.”
In 1982 the Dance Committee of ITI founded International Dance Day to be celebrated every year on the 29th April, the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre (1727-1810), creator of modern ballet.
SMGS celebrated this day by giving platform to the students of Class VII-C and VII-D to perform Gujarati or Punjabi folk dance on the virtual stage provided by the Miscrosoft Team. This exclusive activity was planned for 29 April 2021 and the students were given prior notification to prepare in full swing for Punjabi or Gujarati folk dance.
Beautifully clad in Punjabi and Gujarati outfit, the students of Class VII gave a brilliant and overwhelming performance during the activity period.
It is rightly put by Vicki Baum, “There are shortcuts to happiness and dancing is one of them.” The activity undoubtedly rejuvenated the students and proved to be salubrious for young minds. |
