Happiness and festive celebrations are around the corner. Diwali, festival of lights, is celebrated across India in unique and colourful ways. Symbolising the victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance, the day is spiritually significant. Let’s give thanks for all we hold, our health, our family, and our friends and to the grace of God that never ends. Our school in collaboration with HCRA (Harmonious Children Rehabilitation Association) organised a Diwali stall showcasing handcrafted items made by the special children of their centre on 20 and 21 October 2022. With an aim to promote quality of life for all and supporting these children to develop life skills, our school students visited the stall enthusiastically and made generous contributions to the noble cause. We all believe in rising by lifting others, spreading happiness and expressing gratitude amongst each other. |

Community service is an important and integral part of the all-round development of our students. We adhere to instilling a feeling of compassion and humanitarianism in our students. The students of Class XII recently paid a visit in a group of two to all the Classes from I to XII to sensitize these students to bring certain useful edible commodities of daily use for contribution. These were then collected and taken to Sai Vridh Ashram in Nihal Vihar by a few students of Class XII and the escorting teacher.
These students sang a soothing song to please the elderly citizens and make them cherish some time with them. They also witnessed the hardships faced by the old people and interacted with them. |

Old age is also called the second childhood and is a time when one needs love and care of near and dear ones. To sensitize the children towards the needs of the older generation, SMGS organised a visit to Sai Vriddhashram in Nihal Vihar. The students interacted with the inmates and also donated eatables like lentils, rice and vegetables etc for their use. The visit gave children a deep insight into some of the bitter nad disillusioned realities of life which turned out to be an eye opener for all. |

Books are the best source of knowledge and Knowledge is most useful when shared.
Throwing away a book is one of the worst things you can choose to do when so many unfortunate students are in need of our generosity. SMGS is trying to bridge the gap between the elite young minds and the benevolent donors who can easily take advantage of this program and do a little bit of charity.
SMGS in association with Isha Vidya Foundation organised a Book Donation Drive where children were encouraged to donate story book, comics etc., to help in this noble cause. |
