A Computer Competition was held on 7 December, 2017 for Classes III – V of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. The students of Class III made a beautiful scene on the topic ‘Christmas’ in MS - Paint. The students of Class IV made a presentation on ‘Historical Monuments of India’ in MS - Powerpoint and students of Class V made a poster on ‘Benefits of E-Learning’ in MS-Word. The judges appreciated the performance of the children.

The students of Classes I to V of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in Art Contest organized by Faber Castle on 4 December, 2017. The topics for Class I to IV was ‘A Day on the Beach’ and the topic for Class V was ‘India of my Dreams’. An Inter-House G. K.Quiz was conducted for Classes I and IIof St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 26 and 27 September 2017, respectively. Two participants per house from each of the 4 houses in each section participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. There were ten rounds and each round had four questions. At the end of each round there was an audience question as well. The questions were based on the topics like- Plants, Birds, Famous Indian Personalities, Historical Monuments, Sports etc. The children participated enthusiastically in the quiz and the winners got the prizes. There were prizes for the audience too. Overall, it was a great learning experience for the children.

An Inter Class Solo Singing Competition for Class IV was held on 27, September, 2017 in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. The participants put forth their enthralling performance and enchanted everyone with their beautiful voices. Some of the numbers students sang were :- Faded, Top of the World, Country Roads, Somebody’s me, etc.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words. To develop love for poetry among the students, English Poetry Recitation Competition for Class III was held on 8 September, 2017. The topic was Friendship. Students recited beautiful poems which emphasised that friends are very precious and they stand by us in good and bad days.

It is said that the goal of education is the advancement of knowledge. 'FLAME' - The Inter House Quiz for Classes VI to VIII was conducted on 25 August 2017 in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh.
The quiz consisted of questions based on Food, Literature, Architecture, Mythology and Entertainment. It was truly a fun filled learning experience for the students as well as the teachers. |

NDTV and Deakin University, Australia, organized an Intra School Debate Competition in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 23 August, 2017. Maanvi Mudgil (XII-E) and Pulkit Sharma (XII-F) were adjudged the best speakers for and against the motion respectively. They were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 7500 and have qualified for the final round of the Inter School Debate. |

An English Recitation Competition for students of Class I of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh was held on 21 July, 2017 on the theme ‘Mother’. The students recited the poems very confidently with proper voice modulation, expression, pronunciation and clarity. Some of the poems that were recited were ‘Angel in Disguise’, ‘My dear Mother, Unlike any other’, Mom – You are my heart’, ‘Super Mom’, ‘The Mothering Job’, etc.

An Essay Writing Competition was held for Classes IX to XII of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 7 July, 2017 to give the students an opportunity to express their views on some of the burning topics of today – ‘Gender Inequality – A Curse for Society’ (Classes IX and X) and ‘Computer Games – A Boon or Waste of Time’ (Classes XI and XII) and the winners were :-

As part of the School Birthday celebrations, English Recitation and Card Making Competitions were organized for the students of Class I of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. All the students participated enthusiastically and recited poems in praise of their school. Some of them were self composed. The students came smartly dressed up in colourful clothes and even carried inflated balloons. Cakes were sent to all the sections of Class I and children sang their favourite birthday song and participated in the cake cutting too. They even made beautiful cards and decorated them so as to exhibit their love for their school. It was truly a fun filled day for them. |

The Annual Award Ceremony was held in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 17 March, 2017 to felicitate the best students of Classes I to V of the academic year 2016-17 with trophies and certificates. Principal Ms. A. ’MS - Paint Competition’ was held in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 14 March, 2017. The students of Class III participated in the competition. The topics of the competition were ‘Road Scene’, ‘Cartoon Character’ and ‘Birthday Party Scene’.
Giving wings to their imagination, the students came out with colourful and meaningful interpretation of the topics through their wonderful drawings. ‘MS – Powerpoint Competition’ was held in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 14 March, 2017. The students of Class IV participated in the competition. The topics of the competition were ‘Go Green’ and ‘Worlds of Wonder’.

‘Brochure Making Competition’ was held in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 14 March, 2017. The students of Class V participated in the competition. The topic of the competition was ‘IPhone’. The students came out with numerous brochures containing all the relevant features of an IPhone. Students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in the Speaker of the Year contest last year in the month of October. Of the 33 participants, 7 of them qualified for the National Level round which was held on 5 February 2017.
The students' consistency and confidence paid off as Divyanshi Arora (IX F) won the Ist Runners' Up trophy in the High School Champ category and Sanah Malik (IX G) won a Consolation Prize. Heartiest congratulations to both of them for placing our school amongst the toppers at National Level. |

The primary wing of St Mark's Sr. Sec Public School, Meera Bagh presented a grand music festival 'ROCK ON' on
31 January, 2017. Nearly 140 students of Classes I to V participated in it. The students presented various segments like 'Time to Groove', 'Going Solo', 'Girls vs Boys' and 'Remix' which were highly appreciated by the guests and stole everyone's heart. The show ROCKED indeed. |

The students recited thought provoking poems where they spoke about world peace, inter-personal peace and most importantly inner peace. The topic for Class V was 'Dreams'. The students recited poems teaching us to dare to dream, believe in them and strive to accomplish those dreams.

The Talent Hunt Contest - 'Let Them Shine' was held for Class I of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 9 December, 2016. The participants exhibited their talents of singing, dancing, story-telling, playing musical instruments and so on. 35 children participated in the contest. The programme began with the choir of Class II who sang melodious songs. The participants enthralled the audience with their scintillating performances. At the end, the winners were given prizes and all the participants were given gift hampers.

After the well organised preliminary round, the Final round of the Inter House G. K Quiz of Class IV was conducted in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 16 November, 2016. Each team comprised of two finalists. It was a fun learning experience for the students as they not only got an opportunity to enhance their knowledge but also learnt to work as a team.

An Inter Class English Recitation Competition for Class I was held on 11 November, 2016 in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. Two participants from each section participated in the competition. The poems were recited on the theme ‘Animals’ and were done with confidence and expressions. Various poems that were delivered were ‘The tiger who wore white gloves’, ‘In, Pin, Tin’ and ‘Three Little Pigs’, etc. The judges applauded the efforts of the students and the teachers.

The Inter Class Hindi Play Competition for classes VII and IX was held on 4 November, 2016 in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. The plays were humorous as well as conveyed strong messages. Some of the plays presented were ‘Grahneeti’, ‘Haath Ki Rekhayein’, ‘Saste Jahaz Ka Sapna’ and ‘Taj Mahal Ka Tender’. The plays were applauded by the judges and the audience.
In Class VII ‘Paal Paal Hongi Tujhko Kaal’ bagged the Best Play Award and in Class IX ‘Door Ka Aakash’ was declared the Best Play.

Hindi Recitation Competition for Class V was held in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 25 October 2016. The topic was ‘Deshbhakti' (Patriotism). Beautiful poems full of patriotic fervour were recited by the students. Jhansi ki Rani, Subhash Chandra Bose and many more of our heroes were brought to life by these little children.

33 students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in the Speaker of the Year contest organized by Maverik Ventures on 14 October, 2016. The theme for the year is ‘Heritage’ and the students voiced their opinions on the importance of Indian Heritage and gave some innovative ideas of preserving it. In the two rounds held in our school, the students went through a personal interview and a speak shoot round, based onwhich they would be judged for the national round to be held in the month of December. Sanah Malikand Nischay Vij of Class IX G won the school round for the best idea in High School Champ category and Geetansh Sachdeva and Tanishq Juneja of class X B won in the Senior Champ category. Nikita Arora (XC) was chosen to represent our school in a discussion conducted at the studios of Radio 95 with RJ Pankyon 27 October, 2016 and she came back with an experience that is sure to last a lifetime. |
An Intra Class Reading Competition was conducted on 5 October, 2016. Children of Class I of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh were given reading practice.
They were asked to read loudly and clearly. The three best readers were given badges like – ‘Star Reader’, ‘I Like Reading’ and ‘I am a Reader’. |
An Intra Class Handwriting Competition was conducted on 3 October, 2016. A small paragraph was given to the students of Class I of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh to write.
The three best writers of the class were positively encouraged and were also given badges like Star Writer, Neat Handwriting. |

An Inter House G.K. Quiz was conducted for Classes I and II of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 30 September, 2016. Two children from each house qualified for this quiz. Questions ranged from National symbols, musical instruments, famous personalities to jungle animals and important places. The enthusiastic winners were awarded prizes.

DK, in association with Quizcraft Global and Eureka conducted a written quiz (preliminary round) followed by a final round for students of classes VII to IX in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 28 September, 2016. Mr. Siddhartha Kurapati (Mentor, Concepts and Content from Quizcraft Global) was the quiz master. He was supported by Mr. Rohan Kapoor (Marketing Co-ordinator from DK) and Ms. Shikha Kulkarni (Managing Editor from DK). The quiz consisted of 4 rounds based on Science, Wildlife, Sports, Travel, etc. The winning team comprised of Harshit Behal (IX G) and Simran Vohra (IX G) and the Runners Up team comprised of Manan Bawa (VIII F) and Garvit Verma (VIII F).
The winning team will participate in the Inter School Grand Finale on 14 October, 2016. The quiz was really very engaging and fun filled. |

On 23 September, 2016, Solo Singing Competition for classes IV and V was held in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. Students sang songs on tracks like Drag Me Down, Love Yourself, Shout to the Lord, Forever Young, Here I am, etc. All the participants were well appreciated and applauded by the judges. They encouraged all the participants by motivating them to listen to good music.

Inter Class English Play Competition for Class III was held on 10 September, 2016. Some of the plays presented were Word Problems, The Apple Dumpling, The Prince and the Pauper, The Magic of Mushkil Gusha, The Millionaire Miser, The King’s Three Daughters and Fearless John. It was a wonderful experience for the participants as well as the audience. The judges and principal encouraged the students.
The award for the Best Play was won by Fearless John (III D) and the Runners Up Trophy was given to The Prince and the Pauper (III C).

On 3 September, 2016, Inter Class English Play Competition for the students of Class V was held in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. The plays presented by the students were Annie, the Orphan, The Canterville Ghost, Mind Your Language, Little Princess, Alice in Wonderland, A Hero (Malgudi Days) and Christmas Carol. The plays were appreciated and applauded by everyone.
The Best Play Award was bagged by Annie, the Orphan (V F) and Alice in Wonderland (V C).

On 27 August, 2016 an Inter Class Play Competition by Class IV students was held in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. Some of the plays presented were ‘Many Moons’, ‘Nobody Famous’, ‘The Midas Touch’, ‘The Happy Man’s Shirt’, ‘My Wise Grandpa’, ‘The Happy Prince’ and ‘I Want My Mother Back’. The plays were appreciated and applauded by everyone. The Principal addressed the gathering and encouraged all the participants for their acting skills.
The trophy for the Best Play was bagged by My Wise Grandpa (IV E) and the Runners Up trophy was won by Nobody Famous (IV B).

It was an online quiz held during the month of July. The theme for the month's Quiz was "The Atmosphere".

The students of Class II of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh presented a musical and dancing programme – Naya Andaz on 30 July, 2016. The choir sang songs like Brown Girl, We’re going to Ibiza etc. The dances varied from classical, semi - classical to contemporary. The message of being positive and happiness was spread far and wide by these little ones. |
10 students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in the ‘Rising Spirit Competition’ organized by Shah International School on 29 July, 2016. The students participated in events like Brochure Designing, The Arithmetic Sorcery, Creative Strokes, Torsion – Fairy Tale Scene Enactment with a twist and Poetry Recitation (Hindi). It was a good learning experience for the students. |

An Inter Class English Play Competition for classes VI and VIII was held on 27 July, 2016in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. Various plays from different genres - tragedy, classics and contemporary literature were presented witha lot of elan and enthusiasm. The students of Class VI presented ‘Pride and Prejudice’, ‘The Proposal’, ‘Mixed Up Love’ and ‘The Monkey’s Paw’ while the students of Class VIII presented ‘The Merchant of Venice’, ‘The Man who came to dinner’ and ‘The Ghost’. The judges were Ms. Beena Singh (Theatre Consultant with TOI), Mr. Karan Arora (Short movie maker and a theatre enthusiast) and Ms. L. Srinivas (a theatre enthusiast).
The Best Play award was bagged by ‘The Monkey’s Paw’ and ‘Mixed Up Love’ in Class VI and ‘The Man who came to Dinner’ in Class VIII.

An Inter Class Solo Singing Competition for Class VI was held on 25 July, 2016 in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, MeeraBagh. Students sang songs from the 1970s and 80s and some latest numbers too.

To stir the soul to think and the mind to put together ideas an 'Inter Class Essay Writing Competition' was held on 15 July, 2016 for students of Classes IX to XII and 5 students per section participated in it.
The Theme for Classes IX and X was 'Media' and for XI and XII was 'Youth'.

On 7 May, 2016, a dance competition called ‘Nritya Darpan’ for Classes IV and V was held in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. The theme for Class IV was ‘Old Bollywood Songs’ and for Class V was ‘Western Dance with props’.
The dance competition was witnessed by Chairman of the school, Mr. T. P. Aggarwal, Vice Principals Ms. Veena Wahi, Ms. Ritika Anand, Ms. Anita Gupta and the parents. All the dances were applauded and appreciated by everyone.
Class IV-C and Class V-B bagged the First Prize and the Runners Up Trophy was won by Class IV-A and Class V-F.

A Fancy Dress Competition was held for Class I and II on 22 April, 2016 in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on the occasion of Earth Day. Children dressed up as their favourite birds and animals and enthusiastically spoke about them too. The best three students from each section were awarded prizes.

The Annual Sports Meet (2015-16) of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh was from
9 to 11 February, 2016.
Students participated in Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Lawn Tennis, Skating, Handball and Athletics.
The Prize distribution ceremony was on
12 February, 2016. Prizes were given to the students by Chairman Mr. T. P. Aggarwal and Director Mr. Rahul Aggarwal. Dhairya Taneja (XII D) was adjudged as the Outstanding Player of the year (2015-16).
The Best Player of 2015 - 16 in Boys category was Ayush Dutt (XII E) and in Girls category was Sanya Shingari (XI D). |
