On 20 October 2022, an Intra Class Quiz on The United Nations was held for the students of Class 5. The aim of the quiz was to impart knowledge to the learners about the formation of UN, its agencies, emblems and headquarters. The students showcased their knowledge by answering the questions promptly. It was an informative and enriching quiz for the students, an effective way of making the children learn about the United Nations. |

Learning a language is the foremost step in the life of a child as it helps him/her to communicate with the world. Learning to spell helps to cement the connection between the letters and their sounds and learning high frequency “sight words” to mastery level improves both reading and writing. Spelling words need to be taught to the learners at a young age, as it lays the foundation for more complex words and sentences. Spellings teach the students the interconnection between letters and sounds.
The Hindi Spelling Competition held on 17 October 2022 for Class V aimed at creating awareness of the possibilities of using varied words in oral and written expression and to add words to the active vocabulary of the students. The objective of the competition was to enhance the spelling and literary skills of children. Summing up, the competition helped the children to familiarize with the spellings and usage of many unfamiliar words.

Keeping in mind the cognitive benefits of handwriting, an Intra Class English Handwriting Competition was organized for Class IV. The objective of this competition was to encourage students to improve their competency of legible writing and calligraphy skills. |
“Colours are the source of joy and happiness for everyone.”
Under the project - Happiness, ORION Choco-Pie organised a Mandala colouring competition for the students of Class 5 on 11th October 2022. The students were given Mandala colouring sheets and colours. The young artists exploited their creativity and showcased their imagination, choice of colours with the Mandala Art.
This fun filled activity witnessed an enthusiastic participation by all the students.
All the prize winners received certificates and the winner of the first prize received a trophy as well.

‘Fine motor skills are those that involve small muscle movements, usually involving the hands and fingers in coordination with the eyes’.
Children are intrigued by activity based learning and the students of Class KG were designated ‘Trace Words Activity’ in which they developed their skill of cursive writing by tracing three letter words in a tray full of salt / semolina.
This activity helped in developing their fine motor skills as well as they got to recapitulate the three letter words all in a fun and interesting way. |
In order to develop dramatic skills and promote acting ability, an Inter-Class English Play Competition - ‘A Theatrical Awakening’ was organized for the students of Class V on 16th September 2022.
Popular classic plays like Oliver Twist, The Blue Umbrella, The Canterville Ghost, The Ransom of Red Chief, Mary Poppins, The Emperor’s New Hair, A Helping Hand and Annie were presented by the students.
All the performances were highly appreciated by the judges. Our Principal, Ms. Anjali Aggarwal addressed the gathering and congratulated the participants for putting up a great show. The winners were given away the prizes in various categories and were greeted with thunderous applause by a packed house.

Teach a Man to Fish, an international organization which endeavours to empower young people with the skills they need to succeed in school, work, and life, held a celebration event in M. L. Khanna D.A.V. School, Dwarka to acquaint schools about School Enterprise Challenge Programme on 9th September, 2022.
A group of four students accompanied by their teacher mentor from Nirmaan Enterprises, a business run by students of our school participated in the event. TA market place was set up where teams could exhibit and sell their products. A stall was provided to each team.
Our team sold a new line of skincare products added this year, made some great connections and had an excellent time. Students were really excited to meet Mr. Christophe Walder, the Digital Products Manager of Teach a Man To Fish, London who bought our products appreciated team’s efforts.
Students interacted with students from other schools, learnt about their businesses, perspectives of all stakeholders in a business and returned with a positive feedback from everyone. |
On 3 September 2022 interesting episodes from the life of Maryada Purushottam Shri. Ram were presented through the play ‘Ramayana’ staged by the students of Class 9 on 3 September 2022 as a part of Inter-class Hindi Play Competition. Various episodes from Ramayana were performed - Lakshman Nishad episode depicting the sacrifice of Shri. Laxman ji, Shri. Ram - Kevat episode depicting the saviour form of Shri. Ram, Shri Ram - Shabari episode showing the extreme strength of devotion, Ravana - Sita episode showing the chastity force of Mother Sita and illustrating the glory of the name of Shri. Ram ji, Shri. Ram - Hanuman contexts were included in it. |

An Inter-class Hindi Play competition for Classes VII and IX was held on Saturday, 3rd September, 2022. Plays included adaptations of popular Hindi sitcoms and Hindi movies.
The competition was graced by our Principal Ms. Anjali Aggarwal and Vice Principal Ms. Ritika Anand and judged by Ms. Pramilla Kaushik and Mr. Shivam Khurana.
Participants’ parents were cordially invited to celebrate and appreciate their child's performance.
The theme of the plays for Class 7th were adaptations of popular Hindi sitcoms while that of Class 9th were inspired by famous Hindi movies and one based on Ramayana.
Class 7th plays included:
Kirayeke Aansu, Pita, Bholenath ka Jeev and Sarabhai vs Sarabhai which won the Best Play Award.
Plays for Class 9th included:
Ramayana, Bhool Bhulaiya, Satte Pe Satta and Bahurani which won the Best Play Award. |

The annual affair of English Play Competition was held on 3 August 2022. The winners received trophies for giving power-packed performances. Plays included, The Bard of Avon’s classic ‘Macbeth’, Agatha Christie’s chilling murder mystery ‘And Then There Were None’ and the J.B. Priestley’s satirical comedy ‘Mother’s Day’. |

A Multimedia Quiz on Mathematics was conducted on 30 January, 2020 in all the sections of Class IX with an aim to test and enhance the knowledge of the students. It was conducted in pairs. It consisted of five rounds which sharpened the thinking and reasoning of students. It also improved the knowledge of History of Mathematics. The students enjoyed the “Who am I” round most in which they had to identify the mathematicians with different clues given. The maths riddles were quite sagacious. It was a good combination of Maths and fun! Students exercised their brain and intellect. |
