Students of St. Mark's visit Science Express Biodiversity Special Train - (3 December 2012)
Students of primary and middle wing of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, visited the Biodiversity Special Train at Delhi Cantt. Railway Station on 3 December 2012 and got a unique opportunity to see Indian biodiversity i.e. flora and fauna. The train also had a Science Lab where simple experiments were demonstrated to the students including water sample test. Paryavaran Mitra conducted Painting Competition for the students wherein students made posters on themes like “Save Fuel, Save Money” and “Energy and Environment”.
Trip to Agra : Love Unbound - (18 to 19 September 2012)
30 Students of Class V went on an excursion to Agra and Fatehpur Sikri on 18th and 19th September, 2012. Students enjoyed the fun filled activities such as constructing a Mughal Tree, clicking photographs and locating the sites with the help of clue cards. Merit certificates were awarded to the winners and participation certificates were given to all. They were also taken to a Marble factory where they learnt about the art of ‘Inlay work on Marble’. On the whole it was a memorable experience which enhanced the knowledge of the students about the art, architecture, history and culture of the Mughal Era.

St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, organized a fun trip to ‘Kingdom of Dreams’, Gurgaon, for students of classes I to V from 21st to 24th August 2012. KOD, a spectacular world of unparalled imagination showcases the Indian culture, architecture, cuisine, crafts and tradition under a skydome. The students were fascinated by every nook and corner of the area. The live performances of the traditional folk dances of various states and the magical show enthralled everyone. They have also created an artificial beach where the children enjoyed themselves. It was a lively experience and the students cherished it.
Students of St. Mark's visited Parle-G Factory - (11 August 2012)
Students accompanied by teacher Ms. Jyotika of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, went for an educational visit to the Bahadurgarh branch of Parle-G factory on 11 August 2012. It helped the students to understand their topics of Project Work i.e. how the situation are handled practically.

Students noticed how the work is carried on in factories. First of all video was shown on various procedures to make different products mechanically like toffees, chips and various kinds of biscuits manufactured by Parle G like Monaco, Krackjack, Hide & Seek etc. Secondly they took a round in the factory, to see how work is actually carried out in semi-automatic machines i.e. from the process of mixing, moulding and final packaging.

A group query session was taken up by the Assistant Marketing Manager of the company Ms. Ekta Yadav and the HR Manager Ms. Parmeshwari who told them about the actual work and problems they face in regular working of the company. They answered many queries related to marketing, training, development and other management areas. In total, the visit was great and an enormous experience with lots of practical knowledge apart from the normal text books.

On 7th June, 2012, sixteen students of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, visited Safdarjung Railway Station to witness the Science Express Biodiversity Train. Science Express - Biodiversity Special is an innovative and unique mobile exhibition mounted on a specially designed 16 coach AC train, which will be traveling across India from 5 June - 22 December 2012.

The current decade (2011-2020) has been declared as the United Nations Decade on Biodiversity and United Nations Decade for Deserts and the Fight against Desertification. The exhibition aboard the train, therefore, is based on the theme 'Biodiversity'. The Science Express - Biodiversity Special is a collaborative initiative of Department of Science & Technology (DST) and Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF), Government of India.

The exhibition aimed to showcase the wide array of biodiversity in the country and the conservation measures adopted thereof. The exhibition also showcased aspects of Climate Change, Water, Energy Conservation, Environment and Legacy of the Science Express.

Students enjoyed learning about cutting-edge research in Science; explained through interesting audio-visual exhibits and interactive tools. They even performed experiments in the Joy of Science hands on lab and were awarded certificates for the same.
SMS Rocks Nainital - (2 June 2012)
On 2 June 2012, 56 students along with 5 teachers of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, set up for a journey of 4 days 3 nights "Jungle Camping" - 3 kilometers from Nainital; organized by Rocksport, named as Camp Anubhav. The camping included adventures like rock-climbing, rappeling, caving, night trekking and valley-crossing. There was great enthusiasm among children who not only put a brave front for these activities but were also so thrilled throughout that they woke up before the morning call every day. These activities helped them to boost up their will power, strength, stamina and self-confidence. Various other games and "Samba" inculcated the spirit of "team-work" in them.
Adventure camp to Rajgarh - (27 to 30 May 2012)
Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body it is also the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. Keeping this aspect in mind, St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, organized an Adventure Camp for students of classes IX & X, at Rajgarh, Himachal Pradesh, from 27 May to 30 May 2012.

Away from the hustle-bustle of our city life, 52 students, alongwith 5 teachers attended Camp Bodhisattva, in company of the best of the six doctors : sunshine, water, rest, air, exercise and diet. The four day camp included activities like Rock Climbing, rappelling, River Crossing and Commando Training. While such activities helped the students to check their physical fitness, the Adventure Trek made them realize the importance of walking as one of the fitness mantras. It was a tough trek up the hill but at the end of it, the sight of fresh fruits being churned into jam at the Bhuria Jam Factory made them forget their uphill task. They also enjoyed the bonfire and not to forget the delicious and healthy food served everyday. On the day of their departure from the camp, the students were also sensitized about their duties towards nature, as they cleaned their tents to ensure that there was no plastic littered anywhere. They came back with fond memories and photographs and left behind their footprints only.

30 Children of the Earth Saviours Eco Club and Companimals club went to Corbett National Park, Nainital on 14th and 15th April 2012. The group stayed at most scenic “Aromya Wild Resort.” The group went around the park and got to see some small animals like porcupine and barking deers. We also had a wonderful trek to a waterfall which was about 5 Km. It was a soothing and relaxing experience for people of an over populated and polluted city to experience the solitude, greenery and calm of jungle amidst majestic Sal and Sangwan trees.
St. Mark's students enjoy Annual Picnic - (9 to 14 February 2012)
The students of classes I to V of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, were taken on annual picnic from 9 to 14 February 2012 to Fun ‘n’ Food village. Students enjoyed all the rides and had a lot of fun and frolic. There was a dance competition wherein all the students as well as the teachers participated and won prizes of their talents. It was fun filled experience for all of them.

SMS, Meerabagh - Trip to Dubai : Click to EnlargeThirty students from classes VIII, IX and X of St. Mark’s Senior Secondary Public School, Meera Bagh lead by Principal Ms. Anjali Aggarwal, Educational Supervisor Ms. Ritika Anand, Ms. Manpreet Kang and Ms. Lakshmi Srinivas went on an excursion to Dubai. The five day trip was packed with entertainment, excitement, education and adventure in the form of Dhow (boat) cruise, Desert Safari with a good measure of Bedouin camp experience and local culture (folk dances), Aqua venture at Atlantis, Palm Jumeira the haven for the Rich and the Famous and shopping expeditions to Diera City Centre, Dubai Mall, Mercato Mall ( Italian architecture) and Merdiff City Centre.

The students, under the supervision of the Ms. Christine from Ed Terra, were guided to create a Photo book covering various aspects of the city. A workshop on nuances of basic photography with Mr. Farookh, an eminent photographer in Dubai and a Styling Session with Ms. Poonam a renowned make-up artist (of SlumDog Millionaire fame) added value to the trip.

An educational trip to Amritsar was organized for students of class IV of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, on 23rd and 24th September 2011. They were taken on sightseeing to Durgayana Temple and Golden Temple which is believed to be a replica of the Durgayana Temple. The students witnessed the ceremony at Wagah Border and found the experience exhilarating and unique.

The students were astonished to see the bullet marks in the Jalianwala Bagh and wanted to know more about the history of the Jalianwala Bagh. The students enjoyed the trip and looked forward to share their experience with their friends and parents back home.
An Educational trip to Agra for Class III - (7 September 2011)
Students of class III of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec.Public School, Meera Bagh, went on an educational trip to Agra on 7 September 2011. It was a fun filled educational trip. Through various interesting activities, the students were exposed to the facts related to the world famous monument – Taj Mahal, magnificent city – Fatehpur Sikri and Agra Fort. The students presented their findings using media savvy educational activities. Learning and fun were combined together and the students discovered a city which has been a centre of attraction for tourists from all over the world.
Students of St. Mark’s Meera Bagh in Jaipur - (29 to 30 August 2011)
A group of 72 students of class V of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, were taken on an educational tour to Jaipur on 29 and 30 August 2011. The students were exposed to the rich historical and cultural heritage of Rajasthan. There were many team-based activities. The students visited Jantar Mantar and Amber Fort.

The experience and stay at the ethnic resort Chokhi Dhani turned out to be a very exciting experience for the students. A hands-on workshop on Blue Pottery and Block Printing was also organized for the students. The team from V-C were crowned the “Royal Rajputs” at the end of the tour.
Sojourn to Kingdom of Dreams - (16 August 2011)
The ultimate entertainment and leisure destination was the magnificent Kingdom of Dreams, where the students of classes III to V of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went on 16 August, 2011. The students were spellbound, keenly observing the magnificent structures that towered above them. The huge, blue, artificial sky roof and the spot lights were particularly attention – catching. The students were delightful to observe the different folk performances. They were also mesmerized with spectacular presentation – ‘Acromania – The Great Mongolian Circus’ inside ‘Nautanki Mahal’. The artists performed acts inspired by Mongolian culture, using a combination of dancing, acting, acrobatics and juggling.

M. D. Stael said the above words when he was told to comment on ‘Travelling to new countries’. Keeping the above inspiration in mind, St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, organized an edutainment trip to ‘Kingdom of Dreams’, Gurgaon, on 29 July 2011 for students of classes VI to VIII alongwith their teachers. The magnificent lotus-shaped entrance transported all of them to kingdom of a beautiful dream. The Cultural Gully depicting various states like Punjab, Mumbai, West Bengal, Goa, Tripura, Kerala and Rajasthan depicting their aesthetic wares were most inviting.

The folk dances of Punjab, Kathakali, Manipur, Gujarat and Maharashtra were most appealing.

Students were taken to the ‘Nautanki Mahal’ to witness ‘Acromania’ – the Great Mongolian Circus. The skilful acrobats, the colourful and jovial jokers, trapeze artists, jugglers and the gymnast dancers won everyone’s heart. Inclusion of students in the acrobatic tricks, kept the audience on the edge of their seats.

After leaving the Nautanki Mahal, the students and the teachers once again were back into the Cultural Gully and wholeheartedly indulged in shopping.
N.C.C. Himachal Trekking Camp (6 June to 21 June 2011)
Himachal Directorate organized an adventurous trekking camp at Caprola, Himachal Pradesh from 6 June, 2011 to 21 June, 2011. It was a national level camp. 11 states participated in this camp. From Delhi Directorate 45 cadets from different schools and colleges attended this camp. 7 cadets of class XI from St. Mark’s Sr. Sec Public School, Meera Bagh attended the camp. They stayed at different places like Caprola, Beer, Baijnath, etc. they used to trek about 12 to 15 km daily. They also visited different places like Asia’s biggest monastery, Baijnath Temple, etc. They learnt a lot. They took overall training under Army staff.

They enjoyed the camp with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Adventure Camp in Haathipaon, Mussoorie (17 to 20 May 2011)

Far from the hustle and bustle of city life, 60 students of St. Mark's, Meera Bagh along with their teachers participated in the Adventure Camp from 17th May to 20th May 2011, in Haathipaon, Mussoorie. This camp site was located in the lap of nature. The students did trekking to places like George Everest peak and the Jwala Devi temple. Crossing the commando bridge and burma bridge were a few of the confidence building exercises, in this leadership camp .Rock climbing, which is a physically and mentally demanding sport, tested the strength, endurance, agility and balance of the participants. Our students climbed a rock as high as 30 meters and came down the rock using the rappelling technique. They were also taught map reading and the use of a compass.

The four day camp ended with a cultural bonanza in which the students performed hilarious plays and a few dances. The highlight of the evening was a play "Andher Nagari, Chaupat Raja" presented by all the teachers, for their students.

This adventure camp will surely be a part of everyone's cherished memories for long.
Visit to Kingdom of Dreams (26 March 2011)
Teachers of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went to visit the 'Kingdom of Dreams' - Click to EnlargeOn 26th March, 2011 the teachers of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went to visit the ‘Kingdom of Dreams’ located in Gurgaon. This trip was a real stress buster and a dream come true. The ‘culture gully’ which was the prime destination was ‘indoor street of India’ under a fabulous sky dome. The first step into the gully left everyone speechless.

It was a kaleidescope of India’s cultural diversity. There were 14 state pavilions representing the food, art and craft and customs of that particular state. The themed restaurants and street bars brought out the essence of an era gone by. The teachers enjoyed the various Indian cuisines.

The live performances of the traditional folk dances of various states was a treat to watch. It is truly a spectacular world of unparalled imagination.
Students of St. Mark's visit Archaelogical Park (11 February 2011)
A group of 80 students accompanied by three teachers of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, went for an excursion organized by the Indian Express, to Mehrauli Archaeological Park, on 11 February 2011. They visited Balban’s Tomb which had Indo-Islamic architectural designs which is the first to have a true arch with keystone. They visited the Jamali-Kamali Mosque which had beautiful archaeological designs, and verses written on the walls. All this gave the mosque a mystic look. They then made their way over Metcalfe’s Bridge, a folly with a dome and arches. They also visited stepwell named ‘Rajaon-ki-Baoli’. The tour guide enlightened them about the interesting facts. It was indeed a memorable trip.
St. Mark's Students attends Adventure Island
Picnic for students of classes I to V was organized by St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. Students were taken to the Adventure Island where they enjoyed the rides like ‘Z-force’, ‘jungle safari’ and ‘striking cars’. They also enjoyed the various magic tricks in the Magic Show. They also liked the bioscope in Adventure Island where 3D images of various exotic destinations like Europe, Goa etc were shown. Children enjoyed playing around and they had a lot of fun and frolic.
