Visit to National Science Centre - (10 November 2014)

Public School, Meera Bagh visited National Science Centre on 10 November, 2014 to celebrate World Science Day.

They participated in different events like sit and draw, open quiz enthusiastically.

They also attended a lecture on crystallography by Dr. Puneet Kaur (HOD of Biophysics in AIIMS).

The school organised a picnic for Class XII students to ‘Adventure Island’ on 5 November, 2014. The students enjoyed the fun filled rides, excellent food and of course danced their hearts out.
A Visit to Rajiv Gandhi Renewable Energy Park - (1 November 2014)

To spread awareness towards importance of renewable energy eco club members of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh were taken to Rajiv Gandhi Renewable Energy Park, Gurgaon on 1 November, 2014.

Students attended interactive workshop on energy efficiency and importance of renewable energy. A documentary film on environment was also shown. Students learnt about various renewable energy generation methods by means of working models on wind, solar, biomass, geothermal energy and finally enjoyed riding solar cars.

Class I and II of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went for a picnic to Aeroplanet, Dwarka, Delhion 29 September, 2014. It was a fun - filled, adventurous and knowledgeable trip for the children. They did a number of activities like dry river climbing, magic show, fire drill, etc. They had a real experience of sitting in an aircraft and also felt the turbulence. The children also saw the cockpit and learnt the different ways to escape from the aircraft in case of emergency. It was a wonderful experience for the children as well as teachers.

St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh arranged for primary students to have an excursion to Agra for two days. Students of Classes III, IV and V were accompanied by their teachers. They enjoyed an extensive tour to Agra city with a visit to the world famous Taj Mahal, the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements from Persian, Turkish and Indian architectural styles. Fatehpur Sikri added a great deal to the children’s knowledge of historical background and acquainted them better with the rich heritage ofIndia. The visit to the Agra Fort was also truly rewarding. The children were able to collect a lot of information. At each place they hadfun - filled group activities such as ‘Explore my city’, Mughalnama, Identify areas with given clues and clickedmany pictures. The students had loads of fun and enjoyed every bit of the tour to Delhi - Agra.
A Visit to the Book Fair - (23 August 2014)
A group of 14 students from ‘The Readers Society’ and the ‘Odyssey Club’ of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went to visit the Book Fair on 23 August, 2014 along with their teacher incharges. Students were exposed to the world of books and authors. Books stalls and the collection of books therein was a real feast for head and heart. Indeed it was a great experience for the entire group.
Excursion to Nehru Planetarium and Teen Murti Bhawan - (August 2014)
Students of Classes IV and V of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went for an excursion to Nehru Planetarium and Teen Murti Bhawan. Learning about the secrets of the universe through the show 'The New Solar System' enthralled the students. Further, the trip to the museum was like revisiting the pages of history. Getting to know about the life of our first Prime Minister was a good learning experience.
A Visit To The Qutab Complex and Jamali Kamali - (12 August 2014)
An educational trip to ‘The Qutab Complex and Jamali Kamali’ was organized by the Indian Traditions and Heritage Society (ITIHAAS) on 12 August 2014 for the students of Class IX of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. The Volunteers of ITIHAAS facilitated our children to connect to our roots through stories and experimental learning. The students first visited the Qutub Complex and were then taken to Jamali Kamali (Mehrauli Archeological Park) where they revisited the past to learn about our heritage by a number of activities. Our children learned how these monuments can teach us so much about architecture and the rich culture of our country.

The students of classes I, II and III of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went on an educational tour to ‘Bal Bhavan’ in July 2014. They saw Jawahar Aquarium, National Children’s Museum, Gaurav Gatha Museum and the Sun Gallery. They learnt about the life of Pt. Nehru and the rich culture and heritage of India. They enjoyed rides on the Mini train and were also involved in various activities like singing, clay modelling, handicrafts and drawing.

29 students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, along with Ms. N. Punj and Mr. V. Verma, attended Vaatavaran CMS on 1 February 2014. It was altogether a different experience. Different programmes like Film Screening, Painting Competition, Panel Discussion, Music Festivals etc. were held simultaneously at different places. Some of the students, participated in Painting competition where they were asked to draw anything related to environment. Few students participated in an interactive session of ‘Invasive Aliens’ (Biodiversity) under the guidance of Dr. Sanjay and Dr. Babbu. They purchased organic stuff and plants. They also enjoyed watching few documentaries like ‘Under the Sky’, ‘Rescue the Animals & Nature’. They got to know about 220 species of ‘rajmah beans’ and different varieties of moases. It was a good learning experience.
 
 
Students of St. Mark’s visit Aravalli Biodiversity Park - (21 December 2013)
Students of Earth Saviours Eco Club along-with Ms. S. Kaur and Ms. M. Pathak of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, visited the Aravalli Biodiversity Park on 21 December 2013. This park is a man made forest, which used to be a mining site for making bricks. A lot of trees native to the city of Delhi have been planted in this region. As a result the bird population in the forest has increased. A lot of animals like the blue bull, jackals, rabbit and snakes are found in this region. Children were shown various herbs, shrubs, trees by the experts and told about their medicinal properties. They also learnt about the co-relation between the various organisms of the habitat. The trip was an amalgamation of pleasure and education for the students. Overall a fruitful visit !

The students of class V of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, were taken to Amritsar, where they visited Wagah Border, Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh. Wagah Border aroused the patriotic feelings in them. They had great time singing patriotic songs and also witnessed the ‘Retreat Ceremony’. They prayed at the Golden Temple. The students got to know the history of Jallianwala Bagh. They also saw the bullet marks and the martyr’s well.

The trip ended with four groups writing their experiences about the journey for the newsletter. Feelings of national pride, worshipping, dancing and singing made it a wonderful experience.
Trip to Ranthambore - (16 October 2013)
On 16 October 2013 members of Earth Saviours Club of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, got an opportunity to visit the Ranthambore Wild Life Sanctuary. It was a wonderfully adventurous excursion as students were able to see the relationship between abiotic and biotic components in a forest ecosystem. All the students were spellbound to see wild animals from close quarters. They observed crocodiles, peacocks, and heahens, sambar deer, spotter deer, langoors, and birds like cormorants, large egrets and eagles closely. The students also witnessed Rajasthani dances in the resort which was appreciable as they leant more about the culture of the state.

Students of class III of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, went on an overnight educational trip to Jaipur on 23 September 2013 and returned on 24 September 2013. The students visited the Jantar Mantar, Blue Pottery and block printing factory. In the evening they visited Chowkidhani where they enjoyed the fair and the traditional Rajasthani food. They also visited the Amer Fort and learnt a lot about its history and did shopping in abundance. They were accompanied by their class teachers and their journey mentors were from Edterra who made the trip exciting with lots of fun activities.
A visit to Sanskrit Kendra - (17 August 2013)
38 students of classes VIII & IX accompanied by Ms. P. Minocha and Ms. V. Lala, of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, visited Sanskriti Kendra on 17 August 2013. The unique environment houses 3 specialized museums namely Museum of Everyday Art of India, Museum of Indian Terracotta and Museum of Indian Textiles. These museums aim at presenting and nurturing the creative vitality of Indian art and culture. Overall an enriching experience for both students and teachers alike.
All India Trekking Camp - (3 to 14 June 2013)
N.C.C. Directorate organized an All India Trekking Camp through (though Himachal Pradesh) at Vaijnath at Paprola from 3 to 14 June 2013. 50 cadets from different schools and colleges of Delhi Directorate attended this camp. 12 Cadets from St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, attended this camp with Ms. Preeti Sharma. During trekking they visited different places Mahakal Temple, Tashi Jong, Vaijnath Tempe, Chamunda Devi Temple, Zoo, Tibet Monastery, Billing Paragliding Point and Veer Camp. Students completed this programme with full zeal and enthusiasm and got a good knowledge of diverse culture of India.
A cherishable experience : Camp Anubhav - (31 May to 3 June 2013)
81 students of classes VIII, IX & X of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, attended a summer camp at Shimla from 31 May to 3 June 2013. The students accompanied by 8 teachers, had a taste of the natural world as they engaged themselves in various activities. It was an experiential learning holiday where the students discovered how to be independent and self-reliant after roughing it up at camp activities, which included mountain biking, trekking, rappelling, valley crossing and treasure hunt. They learnt the importance of team work and acquired new strengths by pushing themselves both physically and mentally. The height of the camp was Samba wherein the students created music with trash items. The students enjoyed every moment of the camp, be it food, activities, bon-fire, DJ - night. The students bade goodbye to the serene yet so alive atmosphere with moist eyes as they started their journey back to the bustling city life.
Dharamshala Camp - (26 to 29 May 2013)
25 students of classes VI & VII of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, went to Dharamshala for a four day trekking camp from 26 to 29 May 2013. The students participated with zeal and enthusiasm in various activities like rock climbing, rappelling, zip line, tent pitching and learnt about first aid. They enjoyed the long and challenging trek to Mcleod Ganj. It was a great learning experience for students and teachers. It was a well organized trip by the Ed Terra group.
Annual Staff Picnic - (22 February 2013)
St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, organized the annual staff picnic on 22 February 2013 in ‘Kingdom of Dreams’. The day long picnic saw the teachers enjoying – eating and shopping. There was music and masti too for everyone as the teachers took to the dance floor by storm. The dance floor was exclusively reserved for the staff of St. Mark’s. It was indeed a rejuvenating experience for all teachers.
St. Mark's students enjoy Annual Picnic - (8 to 12 February 2013)
The students of Classes I to V of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh were taken on Annual Picnic from 8th to 12th February 2013 to Fun ‘n’ Food village. It is an ideal amusement park for students to spend the day. All the joy rides such as mono rail, flying carpet were fun filled. After the lunch there was a Dance competition wherein all the students as well as the teachers participated and won prizes. The students had great fun!
