Students of Class IV of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went for an excursion to Nehru Planetarium, Teen Murti Bhawan and Gandhi Smriti on 17 November, 2016. They first went to the Nehru Planetarium for the show where they learnt about the universe. Then they were taken to the museums where they learnt about the lives of our great leaders - Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaha rLal Nehru. Children were excited and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. It was an amazing experience for them. |
Delhi, the capital of India has a rich history. In an attempt to connect children to the days of India's freedom struggle, students of Class V of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh were taken for an educational trip to Gandhi Smriti, Teen Murti and Nehru Planetarium on 3 November 2016.
Gandhi Smriti is a poignant memorial where Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated. Teen Murti is the former residence of the first Prime Minister of India Shri. JawaharLal Nehru. Children got a chance to see the possessions of Gandhiji and Chacha Nehru. Both the places conserve the history of the Indian Independence struggle.
In Nehru Planetarium students got to see the Audio - Visual show in the auditorium. They were mesmerized to know how the universe was created with the Big Bang. They came to know more about the planets and constellations. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was indeed a memorable day. |

Wonderful Wednesday was made even more wonderful for students of Class I of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 26 October, 2016 as a picnic to ‘Bal Bhavan’ was planned for them. All the children were excited and thoroughly enjoyed the visit to the aquarium showing fishes like tiger shark, silver shark, carp and pirahnas and scenes from our rich heritage created with dolls. Story telling, interaction and instructions in the Traffic Training Park were very informative.
The train ride which took them through the states of India ended with singing and other activities. The little bundles of joy also enjoyed the swings, slides and bird watching. They were full of energy even on the journey back to school and enjoyed the snacks given to them. |

Students of Class III of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went to National Bal Bhavan on 25 October, 2016. To enhance their creative potential they did activities based on creative art and environment. They visited the National Museum where they saw Gaurav Gatha. They also visited the Traffic park, Mini Aviary and the Aquarium. They were thrilled to see different birds, animals and fishes. They enjoyed the ride in the Mini Train which was the main attraction. It was an enjoyable trip. |

The students of Class II of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went to Bal Bhavan on 21 October, 2016. They saw the Jawahar Museum and Aquarium. They enjoyed a story telling session and learnt about Warli Art. They saw different kinds of birds in the mini zoo and were made aware about traffic rules in the traffic park. They had a great time on a toy train too. |

A group of 47 students from Class VI to VIII of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, led by Principal Ms. A. Aggarwal, visited Jodhpur from 14 October to 18 October, 2016. It was an educational trip wherein the students learnt about the Rajasthani Culture and traditions. They also visited the heritage sites such as Mehrangarh Fort, Osian Village, Mandore gardens and the Umaid Palace. The magic of Jodhpur- its rich heritage, colourful culture, glistening sand dunes, makes it a destination nonpareil. |

Students of Class III of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh visited various places of tourist attraction like the Qutub Minar which is a great masterpiece of Mughal architecture, the India Gate, a war memorial and the Lotus temple which is a Bahai's place of worship on 14 September, 2016. This trip was enjoyable and imparted knowledge to students. |

On 26 August, 2016, 15 member team from LiveJam performed for Class VIII students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh as a part of their Break Free tour to sensitise students on dealing life with optimism with the power of music. Band members shared their personal experiences of overcoming stress, limitations with never a 'lose hope' attitude. The students enjoyed and imbibed the essence of this wonderful exposure. |

Museums are a portal to the past which bring alive history and make it a memorable experience.
22 students of classes IX and X of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh alongwith their teacher incharge visited the National Museum on 18 May, 2016 to commemorate the International Museum Day. It was an enjoyable and truly educational experience as the students saw artefacts from Indus Valley Civilization, Mauryan Dynasty, miniature paintings of Rajasthan and musical instruments, nuministics and exhibits through a guided tour. |
Eight students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh alongwith two teachers visited the Metro Museum at Patel Chowk Metro Station on 29 March, 2016. The museum has a collection of display panels, historical photographs and exhibits tracing the genesis of the Delhi metro. Students were amazed to see the museum in an operational station set up.
The museum also showcased an extensive section on the construction of the metro and the problems encountered during the process. It was a great learning process for the students as well as the teachers. |

The students of Class V of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went for an educational excursion to the holy city of Amritsar on 18 and 19 March 2016. The itinerary included a visit to the Wagah Border, Jallianwala Bagh and the world famous Sikh shrine Harmandir Sahib or the Golden Temple.
The students enjoyed various educational activities during the trip and learnt a lot. |

The students of classes I and V went for picnics to Fun and Food Village. They enjoyed unlimited rides, danced and relished the lunch and students of classes VI - XII visited Adventure Island. The students enjoyed themselves with fun filled rides, magic shows, performance by the acrobats and had fun dancing too. |
Six students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh alongwith teacher incharges Ms. N.V. Punj and Ms. S. Chand visited the Haiderpur Water Treatment Plant on 20 January, 2016 and saw all the steps associated with the purification of water before it is sent to various places like screening, pre chlorination and filtration till it becomes fit for drinking.
The plant is one of the biggest in Asia and is spread over a very large area with beautiful trees and birds like peacock. It was overall a wonderful experience. |
Twenty two students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh visited Rashtrapati Bhawan on 17 January, 2016. It was made by Lutyen and Herbert Baker for British Viceroys. The main entrance comprised of a major staircase and this led to a majestic Darbar Hall where Presidents and Prime Ministers take oath. There was a splendid Ashoka Hall which had beautiful Persian paintings. Kitchen museum, marble museum, dining hall, light indicating butler system were other significant places which manifested its beauty. Students were also shown beautiful Mughal Garden. Over all the visit was highly informative. |

On 22 December and 23 December 2015, the Biology students of classes XI and XII of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went to National Science Centre at Pragati Maidan.
A scientific session on ‘Gel electrophoresis’ was held there. Students got a chance to try their hands on the procedure individually and could relate their concepts of theory to the practical aspects of ‘gel electrophoresis’ used in DNA fingerprinting and many other procedures. |

67 students of classes VII to XII of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh alongwith their teacher incharges attended an adventure camp located at the lap of majestic Tirthan Valley, Himachal Pradesh from 6 to 12 October, 2015. The students enjoyed both physical and mental activities like treks, river crossing and rappling along with daily sessions of ‘Memory Enhancement’. The highlight of the trip was visit to Jalori Pass (at about 11,000 ft.) and Gaedhar Waterfall. They had a wonderful time which made them more confident, independent and responsible. The students returned with a bagful of memories and fresh garden fruits, especially the exotic ‘Japanese Fruit’. |

The students of Class I of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh were taken to three places of worship i.e., a Temple, Gurudwara and Church on 7 October, 2015 to sensitise them towards the customs of different religions. They offered prayers to seek the blessings of God for their friends, family and school. |

The students of Class IV were taken on an educational excursion on 2 September, 2015 to historical and religious places like Red Fort, Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, Sacred Heart Cathedral and Birla Mandir. The teachers provided the relevant information about the places of visit and also conducted a quiz thereafter. |

Children of Class III of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went on an educational trip on 1 September, 2015 to Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple and India Gate. They also saw important places like Purana Qila, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament House, Vijay Chowk, Rajpath, Teen Murti Bhavan, Nehru Planetarium, Barah Murti and important government office buildings. |
Keeping the motto “Your knowledge, My Knowledge becomes Our Knowledge” the Inquisitive Club of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh conducted An Inter House Multimedia Quiz for students of classes VI to VIII on 27 August, 2015. The teachers were the quiz masters. |

We take learning outside the classroom. Hence, students of Class II of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went on a visit to places of worship on 26 and 27 August, 2015. It was highly valuable educational experience as the students gained knowledge about a temple, a gurudwara and a church. On returning to the school the students expressed their feelings through colours by making beautiful drawings about their visit. |

On 24 July, 2015, 20 students of Class X along with teachers Ms. N. V. Punj and Ms. I. Barua of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh attended a workshop on ‘Rocket Launch’ at the Innovation Centre, National Science Centre.
The students learnt the principle behind rocket launching and made replicas of rockets which they later launched successfully. It was a fun filled learning experience. |

The students of Class I of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went for a picnic to ‘Aeroplanet’ (India), Dwarka on 17 July, 2015. They engaged themselves in various physical activities like dry river crossing, Burma bridge crossing, rope climbing, etc. For many of them it was their first experience of being inside an aeroplane, especially the cockpit. The students had a splendid time and it was indeed a memorable trip. |
Delhi Bharat Scouts and Guides organised a trekking camp to Manali from 26 May to 30 May, 2015 which was attended by 5 students - Aneesh Gupta (VIII F), Vidur Narula (VI H), Paarth Wadhawa (VIII F), Parv Arora (VIII D) and Nitin Kharbanda (VIII F) of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. They were escorted by Mr. R. Manchanda, Physical Education teacher of our school. Around 35 children from different schools of Delhi participated in this camp. The students did trekking of 30 kms to the Jogi falls and then went to Vashish Kund. They also visited the Hidamba Temple. It was a wonderful experience for the children as it helped them gain confidence, conquer fear and become team players. |
