Human Rights Day is observed every year on 10 December to commemorate the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) by the UN General Assembly in 1948.
10 December 2023 marks the 75th anniversary of the UDHR, a landmark document in the history of human rights which enshrines inalienable, fundamental and universal rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being. The 30 articles enshrined in the UDHR transcends values, cultures and borders and expands human rights to vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities, indigenous peoples and migrants. The theme for Human Rights Day for this year is ‘Freedom, Equality and Justice for All’.
With this spirit, the students of Class XI, Humanities stream, watched a widely acclaimed Marathi language short film, ‘Khisa’, written by Mr. Kailash Waghmare and directed by Mr. Rajesh Pritam More. Khisa is a tragic story of the loss of innocence, and depicts how a little boy, Zameer, the protagonist, comes to terms with the harsh reality of today’s polarized times. In a subtle way, the film deals with the grim social reality of India, the prevailing stereotypes that blind our sense of reason and fuel social divisions. Deeply engaging and absorbing, the film struck a chord with the students. In the ensuing discussion, students expressed their perspectives on the film, on human rights, and shared their personal narratives and experiences. This simple yet powerful short film rekindled the ‘human’ in each of us, and reinforced the significance of human rights and the Day even more. |

On December 7th, the vibrant spirit of patriotism enveloped Class 7 as students commemorated Armed Forces Flag Day with fervor and pride. The students, fueled by a deep respect for the armed forces, diligently crafted flags that symbolized honor and sacrifice. These heartfelt expressions of support adorned the students throughout the day, creating a colorful tapestry of unity.
The day served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by the armed forces in safeguarding the nation. It also showcased the students' creativity and dedication in honoring the brave men and women who serve our country.
The event not only instilled a sense of national pride but also encouraged a broader understanding of the sacrifices made by the armed forces, fostering a culture of respect and appreciation among the younger generation. |

World Soil Day was officially designated by the United Nations General Assembly in 2013 to raise awareness about the significance of soil as a vital resource. It has since become an annual event to promote soil conservation and sustainable land management.
The day aims to emphasize the essential role of soil in providing food, supporting ecosystems, and mitigating climate change, as well as the need for responsible soil stewardship. Students of Class 9 performed an activity named ‘Erosion in Motion’ to study the rate of erosion and how plantation helps in preventing erosion. |

Constitution Day, celebrated in India on 26th November, commemorates the adoption of the Indian Constitution in 1949. This significant day pays tribute to the visionaries and leaders who drafted the Constitution, led by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The Constitution of India stands as a remarkable document that outlines the framework for the world's largest democracy, enshrining fundamental rights, duties, and principles for governance.
To honour the principles enshrined in this pivotal document, students of class 6 discussed about the meaning and importance of Constitution and drew comparison of how a country would function with Constitution and without it. Students of Class 7 were shown a video on the principles and ideals followed in the Constitution of India which was followed by a discussion. Students of class 8 enacted a role play on the important features they would incorporate in the Constitution if they were to draft it. Such activities reflect the aspiration and values of the citizens and emphasize the Constitution's enduring relevance in shaping India's future. |

| November 7 marks the birth anniversary of the great scientist CV Raman. He was a Physicist, Nobel laureate, and Bharat Ratna recipient who was instrumental in India’s growth in the field of science and Physics. In 1924, he was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society early in his career and was knighted in 1929.He also discovered the Raman Effect on 28 February 1928 and for this discovery, he became the first Indian to receive a Nobel Prize in Physics. On this auspicious day of the birth anniversary of Dr. C.V Raman, students of Classes 6-8 displayed the phenomenon of dispersion with the help of glass prism. Students of class 8 created their own prism and showcased the dispersion. |

Every year, on 24 October, the United Nations (UN) Day is celebrated all over the world to commemorate the anniversary of the creation of the UN in 1945. On this day, we celebrate this incredible organization and its unwavering and enduring commitment to advancing peace, promoting human rights and facilitating cooperation between nations.
The St. Mark’s World School, driven by its relentless pursuit to create responsible and global citizens, instilled and nurtured by values of tolerance, compassion and multiculturalism, celebrated this significant day with great enthusiasm and fervour. Various insightful activities were conducted for the students of Classes V to XII which virtually transformed their classrooms into a microcosm of the UN, united in purpose to create a freer and a more just world: Class V engaged in ‘Logo Making’ activity; students of Class VI spoke eloquently about the different organs of the UN; Class VII indulged in ‘Stamp Making’ activity; Class VIII presented group PPTs on ‘India’s Contribution to the UN Peacekeeping Operations’; Class IX drafted a charter on ‘Human Rights at School’; Class X presented group PPTs on the ‘Contribution of a Local Leader Towards Achieving Sustainable Development Goals’; and Classes XI and XII held round table discussions on the ‘UN’s Role in the Israel-Gaza Crisis’. Through these activities the students learnt more about the aims, goals, roles and functioning of the UN; they became more informed about pressing global issues, developments and challenges that confront the organization. |

| On 17th October, students of Class 7 were presented with a Power-Point Presentation on the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. The session was not only informative but also engaging. To assess their understanding, thought-provoking questions were posed. Additionally, the students were challenged to create a pie chart that depicted the various diseases affecting people living in Indian slums. It was an enriching experience, highlighting the importance of addressing poverty and its associated health challenges. As one student aptly put it, "Understanding the impact of poverty on health is the first step towards making a difference in the world." |

Our school believing in Making Mental Health and Well-Being for all a Global Priority, organised a few activities for students to deepen the values and commitment to mental health. To spread awareness, Class 6 students were shown an informative video on “We all have mental health” focusing on how to regulate our positive and negative emotions, thus being able to maintain positive mental regime. Class 7 designed bookmarks and Class 9 students expressed through designing coasters on what mental health means to them and to spread awareness. Class 10 and 11 painted pebbles to express their feelings associated with Mental Health motivating everyone with daily reminders to live well. |

The students of Class VII were shown a video to encourage them to adopt healthy lifestyle habits and to understand the importance of cardiovascular health. They were educated about eating a balanced diet, staying active and exercising to maintain a healthy heart. It was followed by a fun-filled interactive session in which students enthusiastically shared informative facts about heart and cardiovascular diseases.
On this World Heart Day, let us unite in our efforts to combat heart diseases and create a world where every heartbeat is a healthy one. Let's take a moment to reflect on our lifestyle choices and consider how we can make a positive impact on our heart health as small changes today can lead to a healthier heart tomorrow. |

Tourism is a powerful force for progress and mutual understanding. But in order to deliver its full benefits, this force must be protected and nurtured.
Today, the climate emergency is threatening many travel destinations and the survival of communities and economies that depend on tourism. On the occasion of World Tourism Day celebrated every year on 27 September 2023, the children of Class 9 planted a sapling and shared their experience about this small initiative on their part that can reduce carbon footprint and help in sustainable tourism. This effort of the children successfully aligned with this year's theme of "Green Investment." Students spoke about the significance of trees, their role in reducing carbon emissions, and how responsible tourism can contribute to a greener world. They made commitments to promote eco-friendly practices in their daily lives, especially when they travel. The tree plantation drive instilled a sense of responsibility in the students and they learned about the importance of trees in promoting a greener and more sustainable environment, which in turn contributes to a more appealing and eco-friendly tourism industry.

In the present-day, when mis and disinformation have a damaging effect on democracy and on the minds of young people, it is imperative to advance and ensure democracy both as an ideal and a reality, for today and in the future.
The International Day of Democracy is celebrated every year on 15 September to review the state of democracy in the world. In consonance with this year’s theme- “Empowering the Next Generation”, and to celebrate this significant day, the students of Class XI (Humanities Stream), debated and deliberated upon the most pressing question - the proposal to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
By engaging in lively and illuminating discussion filled with insightful and thought-provoking arguments, the students presented their perspectives on the UCC. This exercise in deliberative pedagogy encouraged students to entertain multiple competing opinions and ideas, weigh trade-offs and tensions and move towards an informed judgement.
After all, if democracy means anything, it means robust deliberations and debates; both being its indispensable cornerstones. |

An average person doesn't bother solving differential or integral calculus problems daily but we are using technology and equipment developed through the application of calculus in almost every aspect of
our lives be it pharmacy, economics, engineering and even art.
A clear practical example of calculus in medicine is the Noyes Whitney Equation. This equation is used in
the calculation and determination of proper dosage rates by pharmacists in pharmacology.

World Humanitarian Day on August 19 honors humanitarian aid workers all over the world. It was established by the UN in 2009 and commemorates the anniversary of the bombing of the United Nations headquarters in Iraq.
Humanitarians all over the world are finding new ways to venture deeper into disaster-stricken regions, and closer to the front lines of conflict, driven by a single purpose: to save and protect lives.
The students of Class X, through a presentation, highlighted the efforts made by some humanitarian activists in ameliorating the lives of common masses and were deeply influenced by their selfless endeavours.
On this World Humanitarian Day, we reaffirm our commitment to the values and humanitarian principles that guide us and show that we stand shoulder to shoulder with the communities we serve, no matter who, no matter where and #NoMatterWhat. |

The glorious celebration was marked by a special assembly commemorating the magnificent morning hour of Indian Independence. The special occasion, was graced by the presence of our Principal Ms. Sheena Kalenga and Vice principal Dr. Sabina Shergill. The celebration started with the flag hoisting by our Principal and Vice Principal, followed by the National Anthem.
The celebration was also attended by the Sri Lankan delegation of 10 students and 2 teachers from Ladies’ College, Colombo, whom the school is hosting as a part of student exchange programme.

World Biofuel Day is observed every year on 10th August to create awareness about the importance of non-fossil fuels as an alternative to conventional fossil fuels.
On this day, efforts are amplified to promote the adoption of biofuels as a greener alternative to conventional fossil fuels.
An intriguing activity was arranged for the students of 8th grade.
The students watched an educational documentary video that offered a comprehensive insight into the shift from traditional fossil fuels to the adoption of biofuels.
Furthermore, the students actively participated in a hands-on session involving a biocomposter machine. This experience offered them valuable insights into the intricate process of converting organic matter into biofuels, contributing to their enhanced comprehension of sustainable energy practices.
This interactive session not only enhanced their understanding but also inspired them to contribute towards a more sustainable future. |

“Shiva” refers to both “that which is not,” and Adiyogi, because in many ways, they are synonymous. This being, who is a yogi, and that non-being, which is the basis of existence, are the same, because to call someone a yogi means he has experienced existence as himself. If you have to contain the existence within you even for a moment as an experience, you have to be that nothingness.
And we paid homage to this Divine Entity the Nothingness which has everything incorporated in Himself....through our finale dance of our Saptrishi Event on a soulful rendition of 'Namo- Namo Shankara' and 'Adiyogi'. The synchronised performance of our dancers stirred the soul of the audience who were mesmerized and awestruck by the perfection exuded by these 10-12 year olds.
'Saptrishi - the Musical' was a journey to explore and a feeling to be cherished. The Finale Dance 'Namo Namo - Adiyogi' enhanced the entire experience and brought the performers and the spectators closer to the Divine. |

| The next performance in the Saptrishi event was in the praise of Goddess Ganga. Goddess Ganga is the personification of the river Ganges, who is worshipped by Hindus as the goddess of purification and forgiveness. She is mentioned as the holiest of the rivers. Pilgrims immerse the ashes of their kin in the river Ganga, which is considered by them to bring the souls closer to moksha, the liberation from the cycle of life and death. To showcase the same, students performed wholeheartedly with great energy which left the audience spellbound. An atmosphere of tranquillity was experienced all around as the audience immersed themselves in the heartwarming performance. |

Presenting to you some glimpses from Menaka’s dance performance which conveyed a captivating story, delving into the mythical tale of Menaka's attempt to entice the sage Vishvamitra, who was renowned for his asceticism and resistance to worldly charms. With every step, she skillfully expressed the emotions of a celestial maiden, showcasing her emotions with a mix of joy, allure, and tenderness. |

Gayatri Mantra is an expression of gratitude and praise to the powers of transformation, inner growth andself realization provided by the radiant light of the divine.
Mediating on this spiritual light purifies the heart chakra and opens it up to receive higher vibrations of love, wisdom and bliss. It is a mantra that contains all the knowledge of the universe. The fabulous dancers brought the essence of this mantra on the stage with their scintillating performance. The audience were mesmerized as a spiritual aura was created in the auditorium. |

And to celebrate this Divine Entity students paid homage through their flawless performance on the spiritual rendition, 'Karpura Gauram' which gave a jump-start to the event.
The combination of two Shankaras and the fourteen Mohiniattam dancers gave a boost to the entire event and it had set the tempo for the mesmerizing event 'Saptrishi'. |

Everyone of us can contribute towards helping and conserving nature and we should put in all our efforts to preserve it. The aim of World Nature Conservation Day is to create awareness about conserving all species and our environment. To create awareness about it, an interesting video was shown to the students of Class 6. Thereafter, students expressed their own views in a creative manner by writing slogans, making posters and some of them also wrote few ways in which we can conserve our nature.It was an informative and enriching learning experience for the students. |

Through a musical event - Saptrishi, St. Mark’s World School paid homage and sought blessings of this divine entity. The Saptrishis are the seven greatest sages of the vedic realm belonging to Indian mythology. It is said that Adiyogi taught yoga to the Saptrishis so they could pass along the tradition and knowledge to humanity. The children of Classes 5, 6 and 7 made the audience immerse into the pristine world of Lord Shiva and his first disciples on Earth. The performers regaled the audience with their outstanding performances. One after the other enthralling dances were rendered on Karpura Gauram, Aarambh hai Prachand, Gayatri Mantra and many more spiritual songs along with a soulful dance drama which enticed the audience all through the event.
The school’s founder Chairperson, Mr. T. P. Aggarwal, graced the occasion and the audience experienced the power, knowledge and the greatness of those saints through the awe-inspiring tale. Our Principal, Ms. Sheena Kalenga proposed the vote of thanks and applauded the efforts of everyone who made the event a huge success. |

The students of Class VIII observed Kargil Vijay Diwas to commemorate the success of Operation Vijay on 26 July 1999. This day is celebrated to pay homage to the martyrs of the war who lost their precious lives while serving the country. A few students went to all sections of Class VIII to enlighten the students with what Kargil War means, when it started and ended, who its heroes were and how India had victory over Pakistan.
The insight into this historic moment was followed by MCQ session for the listeners who raised their hands attempting to answer correctly. The activity instilled a sense of patriotism in the students and made them aware that “our flag does not fly because the wind moves it, it flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it”. |

Every year, July 22 is observed as Pi Approximation Day, also called Casual Pi. Pi is the ratio of the circumference of any circle to the diameter of that circle. It is used in several mathematical problems consisting of the lengths of arcs or other surfaces like the areas of ellipses, sectors, and other curved surfaces, and the volumes of various solids. Keeping the spirit high, students of Class X enthusiastically participated in creating Pi journals wherein they explored the facts and researched and then depicted unknown facts and enigma of pi and in the form of a journal. This activity helped students in enhancing their critical thinking and mathematical skills. |

Keeping this in mind students of Class V made a chess board on International Chess Day. They also made different chessmen which are used in the game with the help of clay, cardboard etc.

To commemorate the life and achievements of Nelson Mandela, a prominent leader and advocate for human rights, the students of Class 9 participated in an activity that fostered a deeper understanding of Nelson Mandela's journey. They created visual representations of the events that took place during the life of Nelson Mandela and presented their timelines to their classmates and teachers. They explained the significance of each event and its impact on Nelson Mandela's life and the fight against apartheid. The presentations were followed by interactive discussions, allowing the students to ask questions and gain deeper insights into Mandela's struggles and contributions. The event not only enhanced the students' knowledge of Nelson Mandela but also instilled values such as empathy, respect, and the importance of social justice. The event honored the legacy of Nelson Mandela and left a lasting impact on the students, inspiring them to become agents of positive change in their own lives and communities. |

To mark the national day of France, a video was shown to the students of Classes 6th to 10th to explain the significance of Bastille Day and how it is celebrated in France. The video was followed by a questionnaire to test students’ knowledge.. They were also given a brief historical background about the Bastille prison and its significance as a symbol of oppression during the French Revolution. This has not only broadened their knowledge but also fostered an appreciation for different cultures and historical events, promoting a sense of global awareness among the young learners. |

| On World Population Day, Class 7 students participated in a questionnaire through a ppt to assess their knowledge of global population trends. They correctly identified China and India as the most populous countries, with Nigeria, Pakistan, and Indonesia on the brink of population explosion. The students also recognized Tuvalu, Nauru, and Palau as countries with the least population, demonstrating their awareness of diverse population sizes. Their active engagement in the questionnaire displayed their growing understanding of global population issues. The exercise proved effective in promoting awareness among the students. |

International Plastic Bag Free Day observed on July 3, is a global initiative that aims to eliminate the use of plastic bags. The day holds significant importance, as the serious threat posed by plastic to the natural environment including land and marine life, is putting the future generation at risk.
With a vision to sensitize our students about the importance and relevance of the day, a powerpoint presentation was shown which was followed by a spirited discussion to provide awareness about the harmful impact of plastic on our environment.
They pledged to bear allegiance to make our planet as pristine as was gifted to us. |

Meaning that by regularly practising Yoga, a person can imbibe some very good qualities like courage which protects like a father, forgiveness as possessed by a mother & mental peace which becomes a permanent friend. Through regular practise of Yoga truth becomes our child, mercy our sister, self-control our brother, the earth becomes our bed & knowledge satiates our hunger.
To inculcate these virtues in our students yoga has been made a norm in our school and this daily practice was celebrated at an elaborate level on the auspicious occasion of International Yoga Day on 21 June 2023 by following the Yoga Protocol implemented by the Ministry of Aayush of Government of India.
The students were made to perform yoga asanas, meditation, sukshma yogic kriyas, pranayam to observe the day where they learnt to maintain sanctity and peace and lead a life where there is no doubt that yoga helps alleviate diseases that cause health problems worldwide. It connects people with each other, helps them to practice meditation, and reduces stress.
It combines health protection with sustainable health development. That's why we should practice yoga regularly and make it part of our lives. |

Warm wishes to everyone on World Blood Donor Day. This day is celebrated every year by people around the world on June 14. World Blood Donor Day was first distinguished by the WHO in 2004. It is helpful for patients who are suffering from life-threatening conditions for living longer and with a higher quality of life.
On this day, Aarna Sethi of Class IX-B would like to remind everyone, as well as motivateall, to come forward and donate blood to save lives.

Our planet is home to diverse species, each equally unique. As we co-exist on this planet, we must ensure that our actions are not resulting in damaging other species. This involves observing natural phenomena, identifying different species of organisms, classifying them into categories, and mapping the data for conservation and management in the future.
Students of Class 8 to understand the patterns between a specific landscape and the organisms that live in, did an activity based on Mapping the species. Students made / drew an Indian map and marked the habitat of various animals, they even illustrated various wildlife sanctuaries, bird sanctuaries and national parks on the map. This activity helped students to identify “hotspots” of biodiversity, regions with unique species. |

World Telecommunication Day is observed on May 17 every year since 1969 to highlight the contribution of technology in bringing social changes. This day also marks the signing of the International Telegraph Convention in 1865, which led to the formation of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The day also advocates for ending the digital divide. In 2006, the ITU decided that May 17 would be celebrated as both Telecommunication Day and Information Society Day. So the day is also known as World Telecommunication and Information Society Day.
World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) focuses this year on “Empowering the least developed countries through information and communication technologies.” To enlighten the children of Class 9 on bridging the digital divide, a power-point presentation and a video were shown. They also listened to an informative podcast which was followed by a questionnaire. The students pledged to contribute, in their own possible way, for digital transformation in the least developed countries because an efficient telecommunications network is the foundation upon which an information society is built. |

Mother is an epitome of love, generosity and sacrifice who endures all the hardships and provides solace to their children.
Mother’s Day was celebrated in high spirits by the mothers and tiny tots of Seedling and Sapling at St. Mark’s World School.
The happy and excited mothers took part in the various competitions like Footloose, Karaoke and Paper Costume & Ramp Walk. All events were team events comprising of the mother and child. Children were thrilled to see the enthusiasm of their mothers participating in these competitions.
Our enthusiastic mothers grooved to peppy music in Footloose event, made innovative newspaper costumes and rocked the ramp in Paper Costume and Ramp Walk event and sang their hearts out in the Karaoke event. It was a pleasure watching the dynamic and energetic mothers participate.
Heart-warming feelings filled the air with intimacy, gratitude, appreciation and acknowledgement.
All in all it was an enjoyable and memorable day for each and every child which left an indelible mark on the innocent hearts.

National Technology Day is observed on May 11 each year, and Indians will once again mark the occasion with great fervour and excitement. The date is commemorated to recognise and honour the contribution that engineers, researchers, and tech titans have made to society. This day was established by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the former Prime Minister of India to celebrate the Pokhran Nuclear Test. It was in the year in 1999 that the National Technology Day was coined. The development of information technology has been very rapid since the creation of the internet and has a drastic impact on the life of the people. Along with this development, cybercrime began to emerge in new terms.
Today, students of Class XII created a series of presentations highlighting the concepts of cybercrime. These included the basic introduction to the concept of cybercrime, how to identify if one is under threat, steps to take following a cybercrime and a few case files on famous cyber attacks in history. This was followed by a brief discussion analysing the increasing statistics of cyber scams in our country. |

Every year on 29 May, the United Nations commemorates the International Day of UN Peacekeepers to pay tribute to all the women and men who have served and continue to serve in United Nations peacekeeping operations for their professionalism, dedication, and courage; and to honour the memory of those who have lost their lives in the cause of peace. The year 2023 marks the 75th anniversary of UN peacekeeping.
In all fields of peacekeeping, women peacekeepers have proved that they can perform similar roles as their male counterparts. To acknowledge the contributions of women peacekeepers, a role playing activity - ‘Women in Peacekeeping: Stories from the Field’, was conducted for the students of Class XII, wherein they got the opportunity to assume the role of women peacekeepers and share their experiences from different UN peacekeeping missions. Through this activity, students gained an insight into the lives of women peacekeepers, the way they shatter stereotypes, and in the process, celebrated these unsung heroes. |

Rabindranath Tagore was a Bengali polymath who worked as a poet, writer, playwright, composer, philosopher, social reformer, and painter. He reshaped Bengali literature and music as well as Indian art. Referred to as "the Bard of Bengal”, his compositions were chosen by two nations as national anthems: India's "Jana Gana Mana" and Bangladesh's “Amar Shonar Bangla".
On his birth anniversary, the students of Class VI watched a documentary based on his life and contribution to the society. After watching the video, the students were asked a few questions related to the documentary. Students were eager and enthusiastic to answer the questions. It was a splendid session enjoyed by all the students which made them aware of such a great personality. |

World Press Freedom Day was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in December 1993, following the recommendation of UNESCO’s General Conference. Since then, 3 May is celebrated worldwide as World Press Freedom Day. It is a call to re-center press freedom as well as independent, pluralistic, and diverse media, as a key to the enjoyment of all other human rights.
In the activity, ‘Pen Your Opinion’, students of Class XI indulged in expressing their views about freedom of media in a democratic state. However, some also had reservations about how free the media should be because sometimes, disinformation and misinformation by media proliferate with a serious impact on democratic institutions. |

Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. To mark International Harry Potter’s Day, students of Class V watched Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone of the Harry Potter series.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the movie and had discussion about it with their teachers in the Class. |

International Dance Day is celebrated on April 29th every year to raise awareness about the importance of dance as an art form and its ability to bring people together.
The event takes place every year on 29 April, which is the anniversary of the birth of Jean-Georges Noverre (1727–1810), who is considered to be the "father" or creator of modern ballet.
To mark this day, students of Class 5 were engaged in an activity wherein they wrote about their favourite dance form along with colourful pictures. The activity was followed by a fun filled session of grooving on some popular dance numbers. Students danced their hearts out and had great fun. |

| World Penguin Day on April 25 aims to raise awareness about these flightless birds to preserve their species so that future generations get to see these elegant and remarkable creatures. Children of Class Seedling did 'Penguin Craft' wherein using their creativity and aesthetic skills, they made Penguins. They were overwhelmed and thoroughly enjoyed doing the activity. |

The magic of books has been there since time immemorial. Students must be encouraged to read as much as they can which will add magic to their lives. World Book Day was celebrated to develop the love for reading among children. In order to provide a propitious environment where the young talents would think out of the box and have a great learning experience, an activity was organised for the students of Classes 3 and 4 wherein the students wrote book reviews. It provided a fantastic opportunity to focus on reading for pleasure, supporting children's autonomy in book choice, and embedding a habit of reading that brings a wide range of benefits. |

If we wish to know the force of human genius we should read Shakespeare. To mark the birth anniversary of the Bard that falls on 23 April, the students of Class 12 saw movies based on Shakespeare’s popular dramas - The Merchant Of Venice and King Lear which was followed by an activity christened ‘Rendezvous’ wherein the students quizzed the characters from these plays. The interactive session helped the students to unravel the intricacies of the plot and characters and explore the plays critically and extensively. |

| April 23 marks the birth anniversary of William Shakespeare and in our pursuit to celebrate the Bard, an activity was conducted for the students of Class 11 wherein they participated with boundless zest. They wrote famous quotes of Shakespeare and discussed fun facts about Shakespeare and his work with their peers. Confident young girls also recited these wonderful words written by the Bard as a token of admiration for the greatest playwright and poet of all times. |

Celebrating events and festivals in school has become an integral part of learning and building strong cultural beliefs. Such celebrations bring the students closer to each other’s traditions and cultural beliefs and help them develop respect and understanding for each other’s customs and traditions.
The students of Class 2 celebrated the festival of Eid-ul- Fitar with great enthusiasm. To mark the occasion, a programme was organised for the students where they had fun shopping at "Meena Bazaar" and enjoyed a melodious "Qawwali" performance. The spirit of Eid was well imbibed by the students and also helped them to instil the universal values of brotherhood and compassion. |

To emphasise the significance of clean environment, we celebrated Earth Day wherein we strove to spark passion in the students that will drive them to do their bit in taking care of the planet. Students of Class Seedling to Class 1 tried their hands at various activities like Making a Mother Earth headband, Paper Plate Earth making, Ear bud printing etc. A Puppet Show on sustainable earth was also presented by the teachers which inspired the students to take action for protecting the environment not only today but forever. We believe that young students can make a big difference as the future lies in their hands. Children participated actively in all the activities and were full of enthusiasm. |

For the past 50 years, Earth Day has been celebrated by billions of people around the globe, annually every April 22, to join together in promoting awareness for the health of our environment.
People may view it as just another day, or an excuse to wear green and a flower crown, but it is a day with serious concerns about our changing environment studied and addressed today by prominent scientists, politicians, and young climate change activists.
In order to spread this awareness among our faculty and student fraternity Kesholoy - the Eco Club of our school organised a two day celebration by organising a plethora of activities for our students from Classes Seedling to Class XII.
The activities had a myriad of hues as they ranged from classroom activities to group workshops which were not only enjoyable but ensured a seamless learning experience for all the students of our school.
Every year Earth Day Activities give us a new ray of hope as we prepare our future generations for always striving for a greener and a cleaner planet!

To make our children aware of the spring harvest festival in all its essence, our students celebrated Baisakhi today. A special musical programme was arranged for the children and wherein the teachers presented a role play followed by an energetic dance performance on Baisakhi.
The enthusiastic tiny tots carried home memories in the form of self-made craft. They did colouring along with tearing and pasting in the picture of dhol.
In the end our munchkins matched steps to the vigorous rhythms along with their teachers. |

World Art Day is celebrated on 15 April every year to reinforce the links between artistic creations and society, encourage greater awareness of the diversity of artistic expressions and highlight the contribution of artists to sustainable development. It is also an occasion to shine a light on arts education in school, as culture can pave the way for inclusive and equitable education.
In keeping with, various activities were organised for students of Classes V to XII to cultivate their interest in the arts and educate them about the different art techniques popular around the world as well as their significance in culture and in society. Students learnt about Colourful Mandala Art, Calligraphy of China, Art of Persia and Mosaic Art and got engrossed in the creative process, producing a variety of beautiful artworks. |

According to the definition from The UNESCO, “Heritage is our legacy from the past, what we live with today, and what we pass on to the future generations”. This year’s theme for World Heritage Day is ‘Heritage Changes’, which focuses on crucial issue of climate action and its link to the preservation of cultural heritage.
In order to sensitise the students about the same, various activities were planned for them.
Class 5 students watched a movie on Taj Mahal followed by a group discussion on how important it is. Class 6 students made attractive models of monuments from waste materials.
Students of Class 7 wrote an article highlighting the effect of climate change on natural heritage. The students of Class 8 created innovative brochures on conservation and preservation of monuments.
Students of Class 9 sketched fusion of two Indian monuments and Class 10 students created a fusion of one Indian and one International monument to create a new one.
The students of Class XII presented power point presentations on Historical sites/monuments of India and discussed about the contribution of ASI and UNESCO on restoring the mentioned sites. |

A writer of great intellectual rapidity, perceptiveness and poetic power, William Shakespeare, the Bard of Avon occupies a position unique in world literature. English poet, dramatist, and actor often called the English National Poet and considered by many to be the greatest dramatist of all time was paid homage on his birthday. The students of Class 10 made aesthetic book jackets on the play wright's famous works such as Hamlet, Othello, King Lear Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, As You Like It.
Shakespeare continues to inspire and create because he believed - although you only live once, once is enough if you live it right, and his success is commemorated centuries after his death. |

The Department of Environment and Forest, Government of NCT Delhi celebrated International Forests Day on 21 March 2023 at Garhi Mandu City Forest in the gracious presence of Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor, Shri. Vinai Kumar Saxena and Hon'ble Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri. Bhupender Yadav.
In view of above, Eco-Club Incharges of our school attended the event and participated in a plantation drive for an action-oriented celebration of the day. |

Taj Mahotsav is an annual 10-day event (from 18 to 27 February) at Shilpgram in Agra. This festival is inspired by the old Mughal era and Nawabi style prevalent in Uttar Pradesh in the 18th and 19th centuries. This cultural bonanza was started in year 1992 and since then its
grandeur has reached to greater heights. About 400 artisans from different parts of India display their works of art. These include wood/stone carvings from Tamil Nadu, paper mash work from South India, marble and zardozi work from Agra, wood carving from Saharanpur and pottery from Khurja to name a few. Besides being the right destination for the arts & crafts, the Mahotsav is also a delight for the onnoisseurs of good food as it is the ideal place to pamper the taste buds of the visitors with endless varieties of scrumptious dishes. A large number of Indian and foreign tourists coming to Agra join this festival.
To get a virtual experience of this grand festival, students of Class 6 were shown a video showing the detailed architecture of Taj Mahal and showing a bird’s eye view as well. The students presented their research on its structure in different groups using pictures, props and using skit method. In the end of the presentations, counter questions made the discussion livelier. On the other hand, students of class 7 displayed different works of art which were handcrafted by the students themselves. Students enjoyed having a glance at different varieties of craft like wall hanging, mandala art, pen holders, decorated diyas etc. |

Every year on 20 February, the World Day for Social Justice serves as a platform for raising awareness of social justice issues worldwide. People are more equipped to find solutions and advance true equality when they are aware of the different injustices that exist in the world. Only equality can guarantee contented, wholesome societies where individuals can realize their full potential. The secret to social progress is social justice.
Class 9 students of St. Mark's World School celebrated their expression of "Justice League" on the account of World Day of Social Justice by raising awareness of social injustice across the world, especially in countries like Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, and Mexico. They researched and raised key issues faced by diverse communities in these developing nations. Here the students highlighted the steps taken by national and international bodies to eradicate poverty, gender, physical discrimination, illiteracy, and religious discrimination and create a society that is socially integrated within these countries. |

To highlight the importance of one’s mother language, anengaging activity was conducted for the students of Class 5 on the occasion of International Mother Language Day. The students wrote poems on the topic ‘My Family My Pride’ in their mother language like Punjabi, Gujarati, Sindhi, etc. The activity helped in making them realise that we should never stop valuing our mother language as it is something to always respect and cherish. |

| The students of our school celebrated the hard-earned freedom of our soldiers and the struggles faced by our ancestors on the occasion of 74th Republic Day of India on 25 January 2023. They welcomed our Founder Chairperson, Mr. T.P. Aggarwal for hoisting the National flag and let its image of the fluttering tricolour instill peace and unity among all who are fortunate enough to live in this glorious nation. This was followed by the National Anthem and the patriotic song. With great eclat,our Vice Principal Ms. Sabina Shergill addressed the students and urged them to do their best and feel proud to be Indian. The school ground reverberated with patriotic fervour and made the tiny tots present feel proud to be a part of this nation. |

"A world without girl is as impossible as a world without water."
National Girl Child Day is observed every 24th of January all over India. To commemorate the occasion, an activity was conducted for the students of Class 6. They portrayed the journey of their favourite female role models, through enactment of the events from their life, from their childhood days to present when they have become renowned personalities. Celebrating their achievements, students participated enthusiastically in the activity and played the roles of their female role models such as Sushmits Sen, Mary Kom, Gunman Saxena etc.

| No one can forget the unparalleled contribution of Subhash Chandra Bose (4 July 1943 - 18 August 1945) to the Indian freedom struggle. This year marks Netaji's 125th Birth Anniversary, and to celebrate this momentous occasion, thought-provoking sessions were held for Class VIII. Students of Class IX showed an informative and appealing presentation to students of Class VIII, followed by an engaging Question-Answer session. To further involve and encourage the children to learn and discuss more about the legendary freedom fighter, badges were distributed to them, and excitement was evident on kids' faces as they moved about showing off their badges. |
